Medical Assistant

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Compensation: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (DOE)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join a growing outpatient pain management practice in Scottsdale, Arizona. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated healthcare professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment and providing exceptional patient care.

The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to support daily patient care, maintain efficient clinic operations, and ensure a positive patient experience.

Previous pain management experience is a plus but is not required. Candidates with experience in other medical specialties are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories, medications, and chief complaints.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations, treatments, and minor in-office procedures.
  • Prepare examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies for patient visits.
  • Support patient intake, follow-up appointments, and clinical workflows.
  • Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Assist with medication reconciliation, prescription refill requests, and pharmacy communications under provider direction.
  • Coordinate referrals, diagnostic imaging, and other ancillary services as needed.
  • Provide patients with instructions and education regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
  • Maintain proper infection control, sterilization, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor medical supplies and assist with inventory management.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and administrative staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Medical Assistant training or relevant clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care practices.
  • Ability to obtain and document vital signs accurately.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
  • Professional, dependable, and patient-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy outpatient medical environment.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or another specialty practice.
  • Experience assisting with in-office procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems.
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, compassionate, and comfortable working directly with patients experiencing acute or chronic pain. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates effectively, and thrives in a collaborative clinical environment.

Pain management experience is preferred but not required. We welcome candidates with a strong medical assisting background who are eager to develop their skills in specialty care.
