Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Finance Systems Lead serves as a key functional leader within Finance, responsible for the effectiveness, optimization, and evolution of critical Finance systems and related integrations.

The role will serve as HCHB's primary Finance subject-matter expert for Zuora, providing functional ownership and leadership across billing, revenue-related processes, month-end activities, system configuration, integrations, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Beyond day-to-day platform expertise, the Senior Finance Systems Lead will lead and coordinate Finance system implementation and integration initiatives, partnering closely with Accounting, FP&A, IT, Sales Operations, external consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure solutions meet Finance requirements, strengthen controls, and support scalable business processes.

This is a senior individual-contributor role with significant cross-functional leadership responsibilities but no direct people-management requirement.

Core Responsibilities

Zuora Functional Ownership & SME — Serve as the primary Finance SME for Zuora and develop deep end-to-end understanding of how the platform supports billing, revenue processes, accounting, reporting, and month-end close. Act as the primary Finance point of contact for Zuora-related questions, issues, enhancements, and vendor interactions.

Systems Implementation & Integration — Lead the Finance workstream for system implementations, enhancements, and integrations involving Zuora and related platforms. Translate Finance and Accounting requirements into clear functional requirements and partner with IT, vendors, consultants, and business stakeholders through design, configuration, testing, implementation, and stabilization.

Finance Systems Optimization — Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and strengthen Finance processes through improved system configuration and integration. Help reduce manual workarounds, spreadsheets, reconciliation requirements, and dependency on institutional knowledge.

Month-End & Accounting Enablement — Develop detailed knowledge of system activities supporting month-end close and ensure critical processes are documented, repeatable, appropriately controlled, and not dependent upon a single individual. Partner with Accounting to resolve system issues affecting close, billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Testing & Change Management — Lead or coordinate Finance requirements, UAT, regression testing, validation, deployment readiness, and post-implementation support for Finance system changes. Ensure changes are appropriately tested and documented before production deployment.

Controls & Governance — Partner with Accounting and Finance leadership to ensure system processes support appropriate financial controls, audit requirements, access governance, data integrity, and documentation standards.

Cross-Functional Leadership — Serve as a bridge between Finance, Accounting, IT, Commercial/Sales Operations, and external technology partners. Facilitate requirements gathering, drive decisions, track dependencies, escalate risks, and help ensure projects reach completion.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer — Build and maintain process maps, system documentation, procedures, configuration knowledge, troubleshooting guides, and training materials. Establish sustainable internal knowledge rather than excessive reliance on external consultants or individual employees.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
