Role Overview

Hearst's Times Union Media Group is looking for a driven Account Executive to join our Capital Region sales team. This is a full-cycle, new business-focused sales role where you’ll prospect, close, and grow new accounts while building long-term partnerships with local and regional companies. You’ll also have a book of existing accounts that generate commissions, and you can upsell our wide range of digital marketing solutions.

Hybrid: This hybrid role is based in Albany, NY and requires working in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), with Monday and Friday remote. We highly value in-person client meetings.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Full Sales Cycle: Prospect, pitch, close, and grow accounts across digital, event, and print solutions.
  • Drive New Business: Proactively identify and connect with small, medium and large businesses through outreach, networking, and market awareness.
  • Present a Compelling Suite of Products: Including best-in-class Content Marketing, Hearst Any Screen Streaming Television Advertising, SEO, SEM, display including programmatic, paid social media marketing, email marketing, print solutions, and more.
  • Build & Manage Your Pipeline: Maintain a strong pipeline of new and existing business using Salesforce, Outreach, and ChatGPT Enterprise, and consistently meet activity and revenue targets.
  • Deliver Compelling Presentations: Lead discovery conversations and present media plans that clearly demonstrate value and ROI.
  • Leverage AI to Win More Deals: Use over a dozen of our customized GPTs, AI-powered tools that increase your efficiency, improve client engagement, and close business faster.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience (media, advertising, business or related industry preferred).
  • Proven success in new business development and revenue growth.
  • Experience managing a full sales cycle.
  • Skill using CRM tools (Salesforce, Outreach, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Existing relationships in the Albany market.

Compensation

This role is eligible for commissions. The base salary range and total on-target earnings (base plus commissions) below are the Company's good-faith estimate for the posted work location at the time of posting. Final starting salary will be based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, education, location and market considerations.

Base Salary Range:

$50,000—$55,000 USD

Total Compensation Range (Base Salary + Commissions):

$75,000—$125,000 USD
