Circulation Customer Service - Part -TimeThe Alton Telegraph, in partnership with Hearst Newspapers Midwest, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team in Alton, Illinois. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the satisfaction and retention of our valued subscribers. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional in-person assistance at our Alton office, addressing inquiries, processing payments, and offering support as needed. Additionally, you will help ensure our long-term success by engaging with current and former subscribers through outbound calls to drive subscription sales.Key Responsibilities:- Screen, assist, and respond to customer inquiries and requests in person, over the phone, and via email, including payment processing, subscription modifications, and other service-related tasks.- Conduct outbound calls to current and former subscribers, promoting subscription sales and addressing their needs.- Actively participate in regular department and team meetings to stay informed about company updates, best practices, and strategies.- Perform various in-person office tasks, such as mail processing and general clerical work, to ensure the smooth operation of the Alton office.- Schedule - 20 hours/week, five days a week: 4 hours/day or 17.5 hours/week, four days a week: 4 hours/day, 1 day 5.5 hoursQualifications and Skills:- High school diploma or equivalent.- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.- Professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage effectively with the public both in person and over the phone.- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.- Familiarity with office software and tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, professional email systems, and multi-function printers.- Proficiency in troubleshooting accounts on both Android and Apple products is a plus.- Spanish language proficiency is advantageous but not required.If you are a proactive, customer-oriented individual with a dedication to providing excellent service, we invite you to join our team as a Customer Service Representative.
