The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, dependable, and comfortable managing a variety of responsibilities while handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the President and General Manager, including managing the calendar, scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and helping respond to feedback and phone calls.
  • Serve as the station’s primary reception contact by answering incoming calls, responding to the doorbell, welcoming visitors, and directing questions to the appropriate person. Build a broad understanding of station operations so you can help employees and visitors find the information or support they need.
  • Communicate professionally with employees, viewers, community members, and business contacts. Respond to inquiries or route them to the appropriate person.
  • Coordinate station meetings and events, including scheduling, setup, equipment needs, and employee notifications.
  • Create and distribute internal station communications, including a biweekly newsletter that recognizes employees and highlights station news, events, and happenings.
  • Coordinate station tours, community visits, and other outreach activities, including maintaining the information needed for Broadcast1Source reporting and filing.
  • Maintain business office documents, records, contact lists, and electronic and paper files. Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Assist with FCC Public File materials and required reports.
  • Support Human Resources as needed with onboarding activities, including helping new employees get settled and providing station tours.
  • Work with the Sales and Creative Services departments on projects and provide support with overflow work as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of office and breakroom supplies, and coordinate restocking as needed.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the President and General Manager.
  • Work onsite at the station. Regular in person attendance is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an administrative role, supporting leadership or executives, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear, professional writing and communication skills.
  • Professional and courteous approach when working with employees, viewers, visitors, community members, and business contacts.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to work independently, follow through on assignments, and adapt when priorities change.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or similar office software.
  • Interest in learning about local television and the station’s work in the community.

Salary

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $45,000 and $52,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
