The posting

KETV, the ABC affiliate in Omaha, is looking for a creative Promotions Writer Producer to write, shoot, edit and design promotion for all media platforms. The Promotions Writer Producer creates station image promotion for all platforms that advances the station brand and gets noticed in a competitive market.

You will write and produce daily news promos that support station campaigns and marketing projects and assist the promotions department with other tasks as assigned. You will report to the ((manager title)).

Responsibilities

  • Produce, write, shoot and edit compelling on-air promos and image campaigns from start to finish to increase viewer interest, brand awareness and ratings across all platforms.
  • Organize and build projects from concept through delivery, including directing and supervising video editors, sound editors, on-air announcing talent and video editing.
  • Create station on-air image, entertainment promos and graphics, including daily program episodes for air.
  • Produce and implement community outreach events, including on-air promotion and event planning.
  • Assist with street team vehicles and events.
  • Support hands-on editing and online editing management.
  • Contribute to brainstorms across all departments.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in television writing or producing.
  • Experience with Adobe applications, including After Effects, Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
  • Working knowledge of Avid and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to write compelling, conversational copy.
  • Knowledge of the production process, including linear and nonlinear editing.
  • Proficiency in videography and lighting.
  • Image and promotion writing skills.
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines.
  • Team-player mindset and creativity.
  • Related military experience will be considered.
