Salary - Circa £39,000 Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise

The Role…

As Social Media Manager for Hearst UK’s Entertainment portfolio, you’ll own the social strategy across Digital Spy, BEST and Inside Soap, helping grow audiences, drive traffic and revenue, and build highly engaged entertainment communities.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day social output across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Pinterest and other relevant platforms. You’ll work closely with editorial teams to identify the stories, moments and formats that will perform best socially — from breaking TV and celebrity news to soap spoilers, interviews and major entertainment moments.

This is a hands-on role, so you’ll create, edit, publish and schedule social content yourself, while using performance data to understand what’s working and where we can improve. You’ll also be a strong voice for social across the portfolio, helping shape best practice, tone and strategy across all three brands.

Main Duties…

  • Develop and deliver social strategies for Digital Spy, BEST and Inside Soap.
  • Own day-to-day publishing and scheduling across key social platforms.
  • Work closely with editorial teams to maximise the social potential of stories, exclusives and entertainment moments.
  • Create and edit fast-turnaround social content, including video, clips, images and graphics.
  • Tailor content to the different audiences, tones and behaviours of each brand.
  • Support traffic, audience, engagement and revenue targets through social.
  • Use True Anthem and Dash Hudson to publish, monitor and optimise performance.
  • Produce regular reporting and turn social data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Set and maintain social best practice across tone, visual language and platform approach.
  • Stay close to emerging platforms, formats and trends and identify opportunities for growth.

What We’re Looking For…

  • Strong experience managing social media for a publisher, entertainment brand or similar consumer-facing business.
  • A genuine passion for TV, soaps, movies, celebrities and pop culture, with a strong instinct for what audiences will engage with.
  • Strong understanding of how social platforms, algorithms and formats work.
  • Hands-on experience creating, publishing and scheduling social content.
  • Good video and image editing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using social data and spreadsheets to identify insights.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to adapt tone across different brands.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with editorial and commercial teams.
  • A fast-moving, proactive approach and the ability to react quickly to breaking entertainment stories.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
