Occasional Babysitter in the Oakmore Neighborhood, Oakland, CA, 94602

A lovely family in the Oakmore neighborhood is seeking an occasional babysitter for their 1-year-old son, starting November 2026. Care is needed 1–4 times per month for date nights or occasional afternoons when the parents are working for a minimum of 3 hour shifts. The family is looking for a warm, reliable, and engaging caregiver who speaks English or Spanish and can provide attentive care for their son.

  • Start Date: November 19, 2026
  • Length of Position: Ongoing
  • Schedule: Intermittent care- no guaranteed hours
  • Compensation: $30 per hour

Typical Needs:

  • Friday evenings: Anytime between 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM
  • Weekends: Between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM
  • Minimum of 3-hour shifts

Upcoming Care needs:

  • Thursday November 19, between 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Engage the child in age-appropriate play
  • Read books and interact with the child
  • Feed the child prepared meals
  • Help with the bedtime routine and put the child to bed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of paid, professional childcare experience
  • English and/or Spanish speaker
  • CPR certified, or willing to become certified
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to provide 2 childcare-related professional references
  • Able to successfully clear a background and social media screening
  • Comfortable around a friendly, hypoallergenic mini Bernedoodle; no pet care required

Compensation:

This position pays $30 per hour, with occasional care needed 1–4 times per month. There are no guaranteed hours.
