Respiratory Therapist - Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital

Part Time Midnights

24 hours per week / 7pm - 7:30am

About the Department: Join the Respiratory Therapy team at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, a cornerstone of the Downriver community since 1926. Our hospital blends small-town connection with the resources of a large health system, offering easy access to riverfront parks, marinas, and waterfront dining. Role Overview: As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll deliver life-saving care, including resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapies, primarily to critical care patients in Intensive Care Units. You'll perform diagnostic procedures, maintain clinical expertise across business units, and supervise respiratory students and externs. Your work ensures patients receive the highest level of care while collaborating with physicians, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver life-support, resuscitation, and medical gas therapies to critical care patients.
  • Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for ICU and general practice patients.
  • Maintain clinical expertise across assigned business units.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and coworkers to address care needs.
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately.
  • Supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to respiratory students and externs.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
  • Associate of Science Degree (minimum)
  • Recent graduate or two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience in a Tertiary Hospital
  • Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist License (new graduates have 90 days to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy.
