The posting

Are you a curious, proactive problem solver with a passion for helping people get the most from their technology? Join our Information Technology team as a Junior IT Support in Plattekloof, where you’ll deliver first and second line support, keep equipment running smoothly and help colleagues with Microsoft 365.

This role is perfect for a detail focused, accountable starter who loves solving problems, learns quickly and enjoys being part of a supportive team.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide computer and printer support to keep our teams productive
  • Deliver first line Microsoft 365 support
  • Maintain security software on all machines
  • Perform backups of critical systems
  • Conduct regular device maintenance
  • Configure network devices
  • Set up laptops and equipment for our colleagues
  • Attend to all allocated tasks and tickets, prioritising by urgency and level of attention
  • Follow up on outstanding tasks and sign off completed work on the QContact system
  • Accept and log technical support emails and calls to the IT Department
  • Assist the Service Desk team with new equipment deployment, software installations, equipment collection, inventory and printer issues

What you’ll need:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Any IT related certification (minimum NQF 3) or currently studying towards an IT related Diploma or Degree
  • Experience installing, configuring and setting up laptops and devices
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications
  • Strong basic computer and application skills (Excel, Word, stock systems and more)
  • A qualification in technical subjects such as A+, N+, AZ 900 or AZ 104 will be advantageous
  • A highly developed sense of integrity, a strong work ethic and a team player mentality
  • The ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, accountable approach with strong attention to detail and time management
  • Problem determination and resolution skills
  • A willingness to learn
