Job Summary

Position Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Senior Business Analyst with good experience in the financial services domain, with deep, hands-on expertise in accounting business use cases. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between business and technology, bringing a strong understanding of the IT ecosystem and a proven track record of partnering with IT stakeholders to drive application modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders across finance, accounting, and operations.
  • Translate complex accounting and financial business processes into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Partner closely with IT stakeholders (architects, developers, QA, infrastructure, and product owners) to drive and support application modernization programs (e.g., legacy system migration, re-platforming, cloud adoption, microservices decomposition).
  • Produce high-quality artifacts: BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, data flow diagrams, use cases, and traceability matrices.
  • Conduct gap analysis between current-state (“as-is”) and future-state (“to-be”) processes and systems.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and stakeholder alignment across business and technology teams.
  • Support solution design discussions, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical feasibility.
  • Define and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) – test scenarios, test cases, and defect triage.
  • Act as a liaison between business users and development teams throughout the SDLC (Agile / Scrum / hybrid).
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and process improvement opportunities during modernization efforts.
  • Experience Required:
  • 10 to 12 years of overall experience as a Business Analyst, with a significant portion in the financial domain.
  • Demonstrated experience working on accounting business use cases (e.g., general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, financial close, regulatory reporting, chart of accounts, sub-ledger accounting).
  • Strong domain knowledge of accounting and financial processes and the systems that support them.
  • Solid understanding of the IT ecosystem – application architecture, integrations/APIs, databases, data flows, and cloud concepts.
  • Hands-on experience driving or supporting application modernization / legacy transformation initiatives.
  • Proficiency in requirements and process modeling tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, Enterprise Architect).
  • Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong SQL / data analysis skills for data validation, mapping, and reconciliation.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-Have skills:
  • Experience working in the Loan / Mortgage industry, specifically in the secondary market, within the loan accounting domain (e.g., loan sales/securitization, investor accounting, servicing accounting, gain/loss on sale, loan-level accounting, GSE/agency).
  • Professional certifications: CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSPO/CSM, or accounting-related credentials (CPA, CMA, CA).
  • Exposure to ERP / financial platforms (e.g., SAP FICO, Oracle Financials, Workday, PeopleSoft).
  • Knowledge of regulatory/compliance frameworks (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP, SOX).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) in a modernization context.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
