With our strong investment in research and development and our culture of continuous improvement, Hexcel is the industry leader in the manufacturing of advanced lightweight composite materials, including carbon fiber, woven reinforcements, resins, prepregs, honeycombs and engineered core and composite structures. We invite you to join the Hexcel team at various manufacturing sites, sales offices, and R&D centers around the globe. Become a part of the “strength within.”

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced composites professional to serve as a trusted technical partner to leading Commercial Aerospace OEMs and Tier One composite manufacturers. The Technical Development Manager will combine deep technical expertise with customer engagement to solve complex materials and processing challenges, strengthen key customer relationships, and help identify opportunities for growth across Hexcel’s advanced composites portfolio.

The ideal candidate will bring strong industry knowledge, hands-on experience with composite materials and applications, and an established network within the Commercial Aerospace industry.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Deliver high-level, customer-focused technical support by applying expertise across Hexcel’s product portfolio, manufacturing processes, and customer applications.
  • Build strong technical relationships with Commercial Aerospace customers throughout the Americas, leading technology reviews and technical discussions while identifying opportunities for new applications and business growth.
  • Serve as a key technical liaison between customers and Hexcel, bringing the voice of the customer into discussions with Sales, Production, Marketing, Product Management, and R&T teams.
  • Partner directly with customers at their sites to troubleshoot technical challenges, optimize product applications, and expand the use of Hexcel materials.
  • Leverage technical expertise across Hexcel’s broad range of products and manufacturing processes to solve complex challenges related to composite materials, applications, and processing.
  • Guide customers on material selection and processing techniques across Commercial Aerospace and Space & Defense applications, helping strengthen existing partnerships and support future growth.
  • Support material qualifications, specifications, new product development, and the introduction of new technologies and applications with key customers.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and R&T to identify emerging customer needs and translate them into opportunities for new products, materials, and applications.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of competitive materials, technologies, and processes, providing customer and industry insights that help inform Hexcel’s future technology development.
  • Independently manage customer engagements, technical inquiries, customer visits, and collaboration with Hexcel R&T and manufacturing sites.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline with at least 10 years of experience in composite material production and applications, or an MS degree in a related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated expertise in composite manufacturing, engineering, materials, and end-use aerospace applications.
  • Strong understanding of composite materials and processing technologies. Knowledge of Hexcel products and their performance is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting large aerospace OEMs and developing credible, trusted technical relationships with customers.
  • Ability to understand complex customer requirements and translate them into practical materials, processing, and application solutions.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and commercial teams.
  • Ability to contribute to Sales, Marketing, and broader business growth objectives through technical expertise and customer insight.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 40%, primarily throughout the Americas and Canada.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
