Summer 2027 Marketing Intern – Norfolk, VA Corporate Office   Job Summary: The Marketing team sits at the center of how HGMC shows up, internally to our 1,500+ team members and externally to residents, prospects, and partners. We are seeking a driven individual who wants hands-on experience in corporate marketing, branding, and social media. This isn't a coffee-run internship: you'll own real projects, from running an original social media campaign start to finish to supporting the planning of our annual leadership conference - building practical, portfolio-ready skills while contributing real work that goes out under the HGMC name.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by Harbor Group Management Company.   Annual Leadership Conference Support

Support awards administration: nominations intake, department selections, tenure lists, and name/title accuracy for scripts and slides. Manage sponsor materials, including logos and ads. Keep the event intranet page current. Draft registration reminders, deadline notices, and pre-conference materials for review. Help brainstorm a conference social contest, with video ideas or production support for the State of the Company segment depending on theme.

Organic Social Campaign

Design and run an original organic campaign on HGMC channels, start to finish, including post-campaign results. Create supporting social graphics. Draft and review captions for the monthly content calendar.

Acquisitions and Dispositions Marketing

Shadow the acquisition and disposition process from a marketing perspective. Research new acquisitions as they close: community information, amenities, and photos to support the social announcement.

Community Visit and Content Capture

Join a community visit to see how corporate branding shows up on site and document signage. Learn and document photo capture best practices, including staging details like pool furniture setup.

Brand and Market Research

Conduct competitor and peer brand scans covering employer branding, careers pages, and social presence. Monitor reputation across review sites and social mentions, including drafting review responses. Track ongoing multifamily industry trends and content ideas on social.

New Business, Corporate Communications, and General Marketing Administration

Assist with new business proposals: gather property and market information, pull photos and assets, and format the final deck. Assist with internal newsletter posts, from drafting through posting on company intranet. Gather details and draft new hire announcements. Maintain and organize the brand photo/logo asset library with consistent naming and version control.

Program-Wide

Contribute to special projects and end of internship presentation, including a final presentation to senior leadership. Perform other duties as required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
