ABOUT NEON ONE

At Neon One, we believe that technology is the key to building vibrant communities of generosity. As a leader in nonprofit software since 2004, we create intuitive solutions that help small and mid-sized nonprofits connect with people, build trust, and make good happen every day.

Our culture is powered by empathy, innovation, and a shared mission to empower organizations making a difference. We operate with a customer-first mindset, take pride in extraordinary results, and grow together by supporting each other and embracing bold new ideas. If you’re passionate about using your skills to drive real impact and want to thrive in a collaborative, fully remote environment, Neon One is the place for you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Product Designer will help design and build user-friendly experiences across Neon One’s products. Working closely with Product Managers and Engineers, you’ll take features from early research and design through prototyping and implementation.

This role combines product design with front-end development. You’ll use customer feedback, design systems, and AI-powered tools to create intuitive, accessible, and consistent product experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the design of features within your area end to end, creating intuitive user flows, interactions, and states.

- Conduct user research, participate in customer interviews, and run usability tests to gather feedback and inform design decisions.

- Create visual designs and interactive prototypes to test ideas and improve usability.

- Build interactive prototypes in code and accessible, production-ready front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and React.

- Use AI-powered tools to support research, design exploration, prototyping, and front-end development.

- Design AI and agentic experiences that build user trust, transparency, and control, following responsible AI and data practices.

- Work with Product Managers and Engineers to turn validated designs into production-ready features that balance customer needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.

- Use and contribute to Neon One’s design system in both design files and code, including new components, variants, and usage guidance, and keep design and code in sync.

- Apply WCAG 2.1 AA standards in every design and component, including keyboard navigation, focus management, and screen reader support.

- Review and refine implemented designs to maintain visual consistency, usability, and quality.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, share design decisions, and incorporate feedback to continuously improve the product.

MUST HAVES

- 3+ years of experience in product design, design engineering, or a hybrid design and front-end development role.

- Strong design skills across user flows, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping.

- Working proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript, with experience in modern frameworks such as React or Vue.

- Familiarity with version control and code review.

- Experience with Figma or similar tools, and experience using and contributing to design systems and component libraries in both design files and code.

- Hands-on experience using AI tools, including AI coding tools, to support design and development.

- Foundational UX research skills, including usability testing and incorporating feedback into design decisions.

- Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and assistive technology testing.

- A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end process, from research through shipped outcomes, including work built in code.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Product Managers and Engineers.

NICE TO HAVES

- Experience in the nonprofit industry.

- Experience working in a B2B SaaS environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
