Personal Care Assistant / Med Tech – Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna Location: Gretna, NEService Line: Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Personal Care Assistant / Med Tech to join our team at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. This role is all about helping residents feel safe, supported, and respected while maintaining as much independence and choice as possible. As a Personal Care Assistant / Med Tech, you will provide hands-on personal care, assist with medications, support daily routines, and help create a comfortable, welcoming environment for the residents you serve. What You’ll Do As a Personal Care Assistant / Med Tech, you will work closely with residents and the care team to provide personalized support throughout the day. You will:
Administer medications according to established regulations, the five rights of medication administration, and resident preferences. Assist residents with activities of daily living based on their individual plan of care. Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and other personal-care needs. Obtain and document vital signs and weights as scheduled or ordered. Complete required resident documentation in the electronic medical record. Monitor residents for changes in condition, behavior, or needs and communicate concerns promptly. Provide one-on-one support and companionship as time allows. Assist with resident laundry according to established schedules. Help maintain clean, comfortable resident rooms and common areas. Assist residents with getting to and from activities as needed. Provide reminders and support related to meal service. Communicate important updates to leadership and incoming or outgoing shifts. Respect resident choices, preferences, privacy, dignity, and independence. Work collaboratively with other team members to keep resident care running smoothly. Assist with additional resident-care responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Credentials
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience providing personal care in assisted living, memory care, dementia care, or a similar setting preferred. Nebraska Medication Aide certification preferred at hire or must be obtained within six months of employment. Medication Aide coursework preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements
Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to safely assist residents with personal care, transfers, mobility, and daily needs. Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and movement throughout the shift. Must be flexible and calm when responding to resident concerns or stressful situations. Must have strong attention to detail and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to utilize technology and available resources efficiently and effectively. Must follow established medication, infection-control, safety, and care procedures. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Other duties as assigned.
