Evening Server – Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna Location: Gretna, NEService Line: Hillcrest Highlands of GretnaSchedule:  4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. | Every Other Weekend Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a friendly, dependable, and service-focused Server to join our dining team at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna provides a welcoming senior living environment where residents are supported with personalized care, meaningful connections, and the opportunity to maintain as much independence as possible. Our dining team plays an important role in creating a positive daily experience and making mealtime feel comfortable, enjoyable, and personal. As a Server, you will help bring that mission to life by providing prompt, courteous service, helping residents with meal choices, and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment. What You’ll Do As a Server, you will use your menu knowledge, service skills, and attention to detail to help create a positive dining experience for residents. You will:

Greet residents warmly and provide friendly, attentive meal service.

Present menu choices and assist residents with meal selections.

Take food orders accurately using the point-of-sale system.

Deliver meals to residents in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.

Serve beverages and assist with dining requests.

Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming dining areas.

Clean tables and dining-room spaces before, during, and after meal service.

Stock products and supplies to established par levels.

Complete daily dining-service checklists.

Assist with cleaning the bistro and other food-service areas.

Follow proper infection-control, sanitation, and food-safety standards.

Assist with deep cleaning of equipment as scheduled.

Clean dining-service equipment, including the ice cream machine, according to established procedures.

Work collaboratively with culinary and community team members to keep meal service running smoothly.

Respond to resident questions, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.

Assist with additional dining-service responsibilities as assigned.

The position combines resident service, meal delivery, point-of-sale responsibilities, stocking, and maintaining clean and sanitary dining areas. The right candidate will be friendly, dependable, and attentive to the small details that help residents feel known and valued. Whether you are helping someone choose a meal, remembering a preference, or simply taking a moment to have a conversation, you can make a meaningful difference in a resident’s day. Ideal candidates will have:

A friendly, welcoming, and service-focused personality.

Previous restaurant, senior living, hospitality, food service, or customer-service experience preferred.

Previous experience waiting tables or providing dining-room service preferred.

A genuine interest in working with aging adults.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to provide courteous and professional service to residents, families, and guests.

Strong attention to detail.

Dependability and consistent follow-through.

Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities during busy meal periods.

A positive and flexible approach when resident needs or priorities change.

Strong teamwork and willingness to help wherever needed.

Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to customer concerns or complaints.

Ability to follow established food-safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous table-service, dining-room, restaurant, hospitality, senior living, or customer-service experience preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements

Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.

Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and movement throughout the shift.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced dining environment with strong attention to detail.

Must be flexible and calm when handling resident, family, or guest concerns.

Must be able to utilize technology, point-of-sale systems, and available resources efficiently and effectively.

Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

Other duties as assigned.
