Lead maintenance operations for HART’s paratransit and light automotive fleet, keeping vehicles safe, accessible, reliable and ready for service. You will oversee cutaway vans, SUVs, accessible vehicles and non-revenue support vehicles while providing technical and administrative leadership to maintenance teams.

This role connects fleet readiness with dependable transportation for customers with disabilities and seniors. You will direct preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections and warranty management while supporting regulatory compliance and efficient use of resources.

Why Choose HART

  • Make a direct contribution to accessible transportation and service reliability.
  • Lead supervisors, technicians and support staff while developing team skills and accountability.
  • Shape fleet maintenance practices through diagnostics, telematics, asset management and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

  • Lead maintenance supervisors, foremen, technicians and service staff; coordinate shifts and schedules, training, mentoring and performance evaluations.
  • Manage daily fleet readiness and direct preventive, corrective and collision repairs, inspections and maintenance campaigns. Oversee lifts, ramps, wheelchair securements, HVAC and safety equipment.
  • Manage labor hours, parts, inventory, procurement and contracted services within the maintenance budget. Oversee vendor contracts, service agreements, warranties and quality standards.
  • Use fleet performance metrics and maintenance data to identify trends, reduce downtime and costs, and improve vehicle reliability, maintenance scheduling and lifecycle planning.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable FTA, FDOT Rule 14-90, ADA, OSHA, environmental and internal agency requirements. Direct safety programs and staff training.
  • Oversee Rule 14-90 inspection protocols, maintenance standards, audits and compliance reports, including vehicle safety, operator qualifications and equipment reliability. Coordinate supporting records with Operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, repair and inspection records; prepare compliance, performance and asset condition reports for stakeholders.
  • Serve as the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) subject matter expert. Oversee implementation, customization and optimization; develop and enforce SOPs for asset tracking, work orders and inventory control.
  • Train and support staff in EAM use and apply EAM analytics, modern diagnostics and telematics to improve maintenance decisions.
  • Partner with Operations, Planning and Finance to align fleet capabilities with agency needs; exchange best practices with other transit agencies and industry stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by leadership.

What Success Looks Like

  • Service readiness. Vehicles are maintained to support safe, accessible and dependable service.
  • Accountable leadership. Staff receive clear direction, training and performance feedback.
  • Reliable records. Maintenance and compliance information supports audits and informed decisions.
  • Responsible resource management. Labor, parts and vendor services support budget and reliability goals.

What You Bring

Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, business administration or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • At least 10 years of fleet maintenance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior supervisory or management role.
  • Expertise in fleet maintenance, asset lifecycle management, asset tracking and condition assessments.
  • Proficiency in EAM and maintenance management systems, including advanced knowledge of Trapeze EAM and its integration into maintenance workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, procurement and vendor oversight; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, including experience managing large teams, setting goals, training staff and ensuring accountability.
  • A valid Florida driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire or moving to Florida.

Additional Knowledge and Abilities

  • Analyze data, identify trends and communicate decisions effectively with staff and stakeholders.
  • Use agency computer systems and standard office equipment, including copiers and multi-line telephones, for data entry, word processing and accounting tasks.
  • Manage multiple concurrent tasks and frequent interruptions; meet attendance and punctuality requirements and work effectively as a flexible team leader and team member.

  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing
