About the Role

Hinge Health recognizes the value of design. As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll join a tight-knit, collaborative team of designers who care deeply about creating cohesive, intuitive, and high-quality product experiences. Our team is at the center of solving impactful problems for millions of members and the clients, partners, and operators who help deliver their care.

In this role, you’ll help shape the future of Hinge Health’s enterprise products, with a focus on B2B web applications that support internal operations and client-facing self-service. You’ll design experiences across products such as Ops Hub and ClientHub, as well as the workflows, integrations, and applied AI capabilities that help clients, partners, and Hinge Health operators complete tasks more efficiently. Your work will reduce manual effort, improve response times, standardize outcomes, and make complex operational processes easier to understand and use.

As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Customer Success, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to create intuitive, scalable solutions from concept to execution. You’ll lead through ambiguity, connect user needs with business outcomes, and bring strong craft across research, interaction design, visual design, systems thinking, and prototyping. You’ll also help establish the design direction for enterprise experiences that improve self-service task completion, increase automation coverage, and support client retention.

We’re looking for designers who excel at simplifying complex challenges, care deeply about the quality of their work, have a strong track record of shipping impactful experiences, bring a growth mindset, and are excited to explore how AI can improve enterprise workflows. This is a high-impact role at an especially exciting time in Hinge Health’s journey, as we build the next generation of intelligent tools and experiences for our clients, partners, and internal teams.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Shape product vision and strategy: Lead design direction across complex problem spaces, connecting user needs, business goals, and technical possibilities into a clear path forward.
  • Design efficient, AI-enabled experiences: Apply strong product design judgment to simplify complex workflows, identify high-leverage opportunities for AI and automation, and help people complete tasks faster with less manual effort.
  • Raise the quality and scalability of the product: Apply strong interaction and visual design craft, contribute to scalable patterns and systems, and help establish a consistently high bar for the team.
  • Use insight and experimentation to guide decisions: Combine research, data, prototyping, and emerging tools to explore opportunities, test ideas, and improve outcomes over time.
  • Influence through collaboration and communication: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to align on priorities, make decisions, and deliver highly effective, efficient operational experiences.
  • Grow the team and champion inclusive design: Mentor other designers, share your perspective, and ensure the experiences we create are accessible and inclusive.

Basic Qualifications

  • Design craft mastery: Expertise in interaction and visual design, with a track record of advancing the craft and inspiring excellence across teams.
  • Strategic problem-solving: Experience leading ambiguous problem spaces, setting vision, and defining design strategy across products or platforms.
  • Data-informed design: Proficient in forming hypotheses, running/facilitating user research, and leveraging data science insights to optimize experiences.
  • Influence and communication: Highly effective communicator with the ability to align teams and influence senior stakeholders around design direction.
  • Mentorship and team development: Demonstrated success mentoring designers and elevating the overall quality and impact of team output.
  • Prototyping and innovation: Deep prototyping skills with Figma and AI tools used to drive product alignment, experimentation, and innovation.
  • System-level design thinking: Expertise in scalable flows, component design, and building cohesive design systems.
  • Research synthesis and strategic insight: Fluency in synthesizing research and data, translating insights into actionable, strategic design opportunities.
  • Degree type, equivalent to a 4 year degree or Bachelors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for complex workflows: Strong ability to simplify complexity and create clear, efficient experiences across multiple roles, systems, and edge cases.
  • Proven facilitation skills: Track record of running pillar- or org-level workshops to align cross-functional partners on large, complex initiatives and move teams toward clear decisions.
  • Executive-level influence: Skilled in facilitating executive meetings, guiding conversations, framing decisions, and ensuring proper validation and checkpoints before moving forward.
  • Motion design expertise: Solid experience using animation to communicate status, transitions, and feedback while adding clarity and delight.
  • AI prototyping and exploration: Hands-on experience using AI development tools to prototype and test ideas, along with curiosity to explore emerging tools that accelerate design exploration and elevate quality.
  • Design innovation: Excited to redefine spaces with novel and delightful ideas, drawing inspiration from unexpected sources.
  • Multi-surface product design: Proficient across desktop and mobile, delivering cohesive experiences across surfaces.
  • Passion for healthcare or fitness: Committed to helping others live healthier lives through thoughtful design and technology, with relevant industry experience.

Hinge Health Hybrid Model (SF-Based)

We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days per week, for the full 8 hours of a typical business day. The San Francisco office has a dog-friendly workplace program.

We'll never ask for financial details during the hiring process and only use "@hingehealth.com" emails. If you receive a suspicious offer, stop communication and report it to the US FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center. To verify an email from our recruiting team, forward it to [email protected].

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
