Commercial Construction Senior Project Manager - Mission Critical

Job Description:

The Senior Project Manager leads large-scale mission critical and data center construction projects from preconstruction and design coordination through construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Prior experience managing large-scale data center projects is required. This role oversees project teams, budgets, schedules, quality, and client relationships while maintaining HITT’s safety standards.

This position will initially be based in the Seattle market. Candidates must be available to travel and work on project sites outside the Seattle area as project needs evolve.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain adherence to HITT’s safety standards, policies, and project procedures.
  • Lead large-scale data center projects, managing scope, budget, schedule, quality, and project delivery.
  • Coordinate complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with project teams, subcontractors, and commissioning partners.
  • Plan and oversee critical project milestones, including equipment delivery, energization, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress through updated schedules, financial reporting, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure implementation of the project Quality Control Plan and compliance with client requirements.
  • Support project staff in resolving scope gaps, subcontractor issues, and field coordination challenges.
  • Oversee staffing, delegation, and performance evaluation of project personnel.
  • Identify and negotiate justified time extensions and change orders.
  • Lead preconstruction and RFP efforts with support from the Preconstruction Department and other company resources.
  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
  • Ensure timely completion of project closeout and turnover documentation.
  • Work on sites outside the Seattle area as required by project assignments.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor, including substantial experience managing large-scale mission critical/data center construction.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex data center projects, including oversight of budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, critical MEP systems, commissioning, and turnover requirements.
  • Availability to work initially in the Seattle market and travel to or accept project assignments outside the Seattle area.
  • A four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred. Additional relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and support new business opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities and lead teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction project management software.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
