The posting

HJ Staffing is currently seeking an IT Support Specialist / Junior Systems Administrator to join a growing team. This role serves as the frontline technical anchor, primarily focusing on daily end-user support, workstation maintenance, and foundational systems administration.

The ideal candidate brings 2–4 years of hands-on technical support experience, preferably gained within a small or mid-sized business environment. If you are a proactive problem solver who enjoys wearing multiple hats and collaborating across both administrative and technical teams—especially in manufacturing or engineering settings—we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ticket & End-User Support: Manage, triage, and resolve daily incoming IT support requests; thoroughly document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and system changes.
  • Workstation & Hardware Management: Deploy, configure, patch, and maintain Windows 11 desktops, laptops, and technical workstations; execute hardware repairs and equipment replacements.
  • Peripheral & Office Tech Support: Set up and troubleshoot network printers, scanners, conferencing tech, and other office peripherals.
  • Identity & Access Management: Facilitate seamless user onboarding and offboarding, active account setup, access provisioning, and password resets.
  • SaaS & Productivity Systems: Support Microsoft 365 core applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and core business productivity software.
  • Network Connectivity: Diagnose and resolve Tier-1 network issues involving TCP/IP, switches, Wi-Fi connectivity, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Business Applications: Deliver first-line troubleshooting for internal ERP, engineering software, and operational applications, liaising with senior technical resources or external vendors as needed.
  • Asset & Vendor Coordination: Maintain accurate IT inventory, asset tags, and hardware tracking; communicate directly with hardware/software vendors to resolve service tickets.

Technical Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on desktop support or help desk experience in a small-to-mid-sized business environment.
  • Operating Systems & Hardware: Deep familiarity with Windows 11 installation, performance optimization, and hardware diagnostics.
  • Directory & Cloud Administration: Practical experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Admin Center (user, group, and license management).
  • Networking Fundamentals: Solid grasp of core network concepts, including IP addressing, subnets, Wi-Fi coverage, and local print queues.
  • Security & Systems: Familiarity with basic cybersecurity best practices, endpoint protection (EDR/antivirus), and standard patch management workflows.
  • Ticketing Tools: Proven experience working within modern help desk ticketing systems.
  • Bonus Points: Hands-on experience with Linux environments, network switch configuration, or prior experience supporting manufacturing/production/engineering software (e.g., CAD, CAM, or ERP systems).

Personal Attributes

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong diagnostic instincts—able to break complex technical hiccups down to root causes quickly.
  • Customer Service Mindset: Clear, approachable, and patient communicator capable of translating technical jargon for non-technical users.
  • Prioritization: Able to manage multiple competing tickets and self-direct tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative & Adaptable: Comfortable working cross-functionally across office, engineering, and factory floor/production environments.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance packages
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays
  • Opportunities for technical certifications and systems administration career advancement

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
