The posting

THE JOB

The HKSI works in close collaboration with the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association (HKCTA) in achieving the jointly defined goals of elite training. Therefore, while reporting to the Chief Executive, the incumbent is also responsible to the HKCTA to ensure the following duties are satisfactorily conducted:

  • To oversee the planning, design, implementation, evaluation, of the Tennis elite training programme in line with the agreed training and competition aims of the HKCTA and HKSI;
  • To lead all regular strategic reporting to the HKCTA and to ensure a positive collaborative working relationship between the HKCTA and HKSI;
  • To lead the Tennis Department, managing coaching and administrative staff, ensuring that it operates effectively, efficiently and within the annual financial budget;
  • To ensure that all scientific, medical and other athlete support services are fully utilised and integrated into the Tennis programme to enhance elite training outcomes;
  • To create systematic opportunities for talent to emerge through related programmes;
  • To contribute towards the overall development of coach education programmes which promote the development of local coaches;
  • To provide professional and technical oversight of the HKSI Tennis facilities;
  • To contribute to in-house and general media publications as requested; and
  • To contribute to the enhancement of the professional image of the HKSI.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • A University degree or its equivalent;
  • A valid coaching certificate issued by the relevant governing body;
  • Over 10 years' proven experience and achievement in coaching Tennis at international level;
  • Substantial experience in leading programme planning and administration in Tennis;
  • Knowledge in sports science and sports medicine and be able to bring their benefits to the coaching process;
  • Excellent interpersonal/ analytical/ evaluation/ planning skills;
  • High level of computer literacy;
  • Strong links with international Tennis bodies;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; and
  • Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issue in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.

  • 為體院的網球訓練場地提供專業/技術監督；
  • 因應要求，向體院及傳媒提供資料；及
  • 協助進一步確立體院的專業形象。

職位要求

  • 大學學位或同等學歷；
  • 持有由相關管理機構頒發的教練証書資歷；
  • 擁有十年或以上擔任網球國際賽教練的經驗，期間並取得確切的成績；
  • 具有網球項目行政及策劃的工作經驗；
  • 具有善用運動科學和運動醫學的能力，藉以加強訓練成果；
  • 具備良好的溝通/分析/評估/策劃的技巧；
  • 熟悉電腦操作；
  • 具有良好國際網球組織的聯繫網絡；
  • 具有高水平的書寫和語言表達能力；及
  • 認識香港保護兒童及平等機會政策為佳。
