Scope

The firm's financial technology platforms sit at the center of how Houlihan Lokey closes its books, reports its results, and scales as a global financial institution. As Senior Vice President, Financial Systems & Technology, you own the strategy, delivery, and ongoing health of these platforms and the teams that build, run, and support them, ensuring the systems the business depends on are reliable, well-governed, and ready to grow with the firm.

The current financial technology environment includes Oracle and SAP Concur, with a roadmap that may evolve as the firm's needs change.

Reporting to the CIO, Information Technology, you hold primary accountability for the financial and operational performance of the function. You set direction, own the operating model and sourcing mix, and partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and business stakeholders to translate financial and operational needs into durable technology outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage software vendors and delivery and support partners against agreed service levels, delivery commitments, cost, and business outcomes; maintain clear accountability across internal teams and external providers.
  • Develop and execute the financial systems roadmap, aligning talent and investment with firm priorities; evaluate alternative platforms and lead modernization or transitions through delivery and adoption while maintaining continuity of financial operations.
  • Lead the implementation and adoption of AI and agentic capabilities within the financial platforms in scope, including capabilities delivered by platform vendors, in partnership with the teams that own enterprise AI strategy and governance; prioritize use cases that deliver measurable value while maintaining appropriate controls.
  • Own decisions that carry significant impact on the firm's financial or operational performance, including platform design direction, build-versus-buy, and internal-versus-external sourcing.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to define and deliver technology support for financial processes within the function's remit, including close and reporting, and general ledger, accounts payable, expense management, and consolidation where applicable.
  • Own technology controls, access governance, audit support, and remediation for financial applications, in partnership with Finance, Accounting, and Information Security; translate policy and control requirements into practical technology solutions.
  • Own financial application integrations and the controls that support complete, accurate, and timely financial data flows, in partnership with Finance, Accounting, and enterprise technology teams.
  • Own application reliability and support performance, including service measures, incident escalation, release management, upgrades, and coordination around critical financial processing periods.
  • Hold primary accountability for the financial performance of the function, including budget, sourcing mix, and the cost and value of the platforms and teams within scope.
  • Prepare and present clear, well-organized materials on strategy, performance, and risk for review by firm leadership.

Leadership:

  • Hold full leadership responsibility for teams of leaders, planning the needs of the business and setting functional strategy.
  • Build cross-functional trust and alignment through clear, persuasive communication; articulate the team's vision, goals, opportunities, and challenges to audiences across the organization and connect its work to firm priorities.
  • Lead teams through change with calm, credible judgment, clear priorities, and practical support; listen to concerns, explain decisions, and help teams adapt while maintaining delivery.
  • Create opportunities for leadership and visibility for direct reports, and play a significant role in their career development; identify talent in other parts of the organization.
  • Roll up your sleeves and actively contribute to the team's success.
  • “Walk the walk” and promote Houlihan Lokey values in every aspect of team development.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience leading enterprise financial technology platforms and the teams that deliver and support them, including people-leadership responsibility for other leaders.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle financial applications and SAP Concur, along with experience across other enterprise financial platforms.
  • Experience leading financial systems in varied enterprise technology environments, including evaluating alternative platforms and guiding modernization or transitions.
  • Background partnering closely with Finance and Accounting stakeholders on close, reporting, and control outcomes.
  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of the systems, theories, and practices of enterprise financial technology, platform delivery, and support operations.
  • Proven ability to set functional strategy and own the financial and operational performance of a function, including budget and sourcing decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of audiences and to present and defend complex or sensitive issues that carry important impact on the business.
  • Demonstrated comfort using AI-enabled tools to streamline delivery, analysis, and reporting, with sound judgment about where new technology can improve outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience leading a build-versus-buy or internal-versus-external sourcing shift for a core financial platform.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
