POSITION SUMMARY

Do you believe burgers, fries and fresh wood-fired pizza make everything better? Do you love the energy of a busy kitchen and take pride in getting every order just right? If so, we want YOU on our team! As a Grill and Line Cook / Pizza Cook, you’ll prepare high-quality food at That Burger Joint and Woodgrain Neapolitan Pizzeria, whether you’re working the grill, running the line, or stretching dough and firing pizzas in our wood-fired oven. When the team needs an extra hand, you’ll also be cross-trained to help out in the Oberweis Ice Cream & Dairy Store. No kitchen experience? No problem. We’ll train you!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and cook burgers, fries, pizzas and other menu items to recipe and quality standards
  • Accurately assemble orders and keep tickets moving during busy rushes
  • Prep ingredients and stock your station before and during each shift
  • Prepare ice cream treats such as cones, dishes, shakes, malts and sundaes to Oberweis recipe and portion standards to support the Oberweis Ice Cream & Dairy Store when business needs require
  • Provide friendly, outstanding service to store guests and accurately take and ring up orders
  • Maintain product knowledge across all menus
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and store, especially your own work area, including the fountain and front counter
  • Restock paper and packaged items, including front line and service areas, as needed
  • Communicate with other team members about product quality
  • Follow food safety, sanitation and temperature guidelines
  • Perform shift duties and other duties as assigned by management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Read, write and understand the English language
  • Ability to do simple math
  • Positive, upbeat attitude
  • Weekend, evening and daytime availability
  • Ability to work quickly and stay organized in a fast-paced kitchen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a kitchen, restaurant or food service environment (not required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Bend, lift, scoop, stand and reach to receive inventory, stock stations, prepare food, serve guests and clean the kitchen and store
  • Stand and walk on a hard surface for up to 8 hours per day
  • Work safely near high-heat equipment, including grills, fryers and a wood-fired oven
