POSITION SUMMARY

As a Machine Operator, you’ll help make our ready-to-eat dairy products on the ice cream line. You’ll run several machines, follow our processes, and handle food and packaging safely. We’re looking for someone who learns quickly, pays attention to detail, and can figure out and fix problems as they come up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Run the filling, orientation, casing, and stacking machines
  • Follow our Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Follow our sanitation, food safety, and quality procedures
  • Learn and follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the ice cream line, and help create new ones
  • Fill out paperwork clearly and neatly
  • Keep your work area clean and safe
  • Help in other areas outside the Plastic Line when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Read, write and understand the English language
  • Ability to do simple math
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Clear, readable handwriting
  • Able to learn quickly, follow processes, troubleshoot problems, and handle food and packaging safely

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 or more years of food manufacturing experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb
  • Climb and work from ladders and lifts
  • Lift and carry 50 to 150 pounds
  • Good close-up, color, and side (peripheral) vision
  • Work in temperatures from -40°F to 130°F
  • Work in wet areas and with a variety of cleaning chemicals

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • This is a full-time position. You may sometimes be asked to work shifts outside your normal schedule based on business needs.
  • We try to limit production on holidays, but we can’t guarantee it. We’ll do our best to keep schedules fair and allow for time off.
