Associates work closely with partners and clients on some of the most significant appeals and legal questions facing businesses, institutions, and individuals today.

This position offers substantial responsibility, meaningful client contact, and the opportunity to play a key role in all phases of appellate litigation, from developing case strategy through briefing and oral argument preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sophisticated legal research and analysis on complex constitutional, statutory, administrative, and commercial issues.
  • Prepare legal memoranda, client counseling materials, and strategic assessments.
  • Participate in moot courts and oral argument preparation.
  • Work with trial teams to preserve appellate issues and develop litigation strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and fellow associates in a collegial, team-oriented environment.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and business development initiatives relating to appellate advocacy and emerging legal issues.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • A J.D. degree from a top law school with an outstanding academic record.
  • 2-4 years of legal experience following law school graduation.
  • At least one federal or state appellate court clerkship; federal appellate clerkship experience is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in appellate advocacy, constitutional law, administrative law, or complex commercial litigation.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management abilities.
  • Membership in good standing with a state bar, or eligibility to become admitted promptly.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and creative advocate who enjoys tackling difficult legal questions, writing persuasively, and working collaboratively on high-stakes matters. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
