Job Description

One of the best-known names in cruising, Princess is the world’s leading international premium cruise line and tour company, carrying millions of guests each year to hundreds of destinations around the globe. We give our guests the Medallion Class experience others simply can’t. The Love Boat promises something for everyone.

The Senior Manager Business Analytics is responsible for using large data sets and complex analysis to answer urgent questions about revenue management. This role involves agile management of a data analytics team to deliver timely, actionable insights. The Senior Manager Business Analytics will work closely with Vice Presidents, Associate Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers in Revenue Management, as well as the Data Science and Business Intelligence teams, to translate complex business questions into analytical solutions that inform pricing decisions, optimize net ticket revenue, occupancy, and yield, and support revenue-management strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience leading analytics teams and complex projects, proficiency in experimental design and working with structured and unstructured data, and the ability to communicate clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Here’s a summary of what Princess is looking for in a Senior Manager Business Analytics. Is this you?

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Business Analytics team, setting priorities, allocating work, coaching senior analysts, and managing goals and performance to deliver timely, high-quality analysis.
  • Translate loosely defined revenue-management questions into clear analytical objectives, testable hypotheses, and rigorous approaches that address business complexity and stakeholder needs. Lead complex analysis of large structured and unstructured data sets—including pricing, booking, promotion, channel, market, and marketing information—to identify opportunities and risks affecting net ticket revenue, occupancy, and yield.
  • Design, oversee, and evaluate A/B tests and other analytical methods to measure market response, validate revenue-management strategies, and improve the quality of pricing decisions. Present findings to senior executives to guide discussion on changes.
  • Partner with Revenue Management Vice Presidents, Associate Vice Presidents, and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize requests, challenge assumptions, communicate findings clearly, and convert analysis into actionable pricing and revenue strategy recommendations.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Scope: This role works closely with the Vice Presidents and Associate Vice Presidents in Revenue Management to answer complex business problems through data and analysis. The analysis provided by the Business Analytics team will be used to inform all Princess pricing decisions, from publicly available rates to channel specific and market specific rates.
  • Problem solving: This role will be expected to take loosely formed business questions and turn them into questions and hypotheses that can be answered through complex data analysis. This data may be a combination of well-structured quantitative data as well as unstructured data around promotions, marketing messages, booking terms, etc. The role will be responsible for thinking through all of the complexities of business questions to validate which approach is most meaningful. This may include creating and then assessing A/B tests to understand the market impact of different revenue management strategies. Many stakeholders may provide input, which will need to be prioritized and further questioned.
  • Impact: This role will be vital to the revenue management team. The analysis done by the Business Analytics team will be directly used in pricing decisions and to set revenue management strategy. That in turn has a direct impact on the net ticket revenue, occupancy and yields of the company.
  • Leadership: This role will directly manage three senior analysts and will be responsible for setting priorities and providing coaching to that senior analysis. The coaching should include career guidance, goal setting and performance evaluations.

For all roles:

  • Knowledge: Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.
  • Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Abilities: Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team / Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.

Essential/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field.

Essential experience required:

  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in business analytics, data science, business intelligence, revenue management, pricing analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading analytics teams, setting priorities, coaching experienced analysts, and managing performance and professional development.
  • Experience translating ambiguous business questions into analytical objectives, testable hypotheses, and actionable recommendations.
  • Experience analyzing large, complex structured and unstructured data sets to support pricing, revenue, or other commercial decisions.
  • Experience designing and evaluating A/B tests or comparable experimental and causal-analysis approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders by communicating complex analytical findings clearly and connecting insights to measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience managing multiple high-priority analytical projects and stakeholder requests in a fast-paced environment.

Travel: Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
