The posting

About the role

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team, supporting children and young people within the Royal Berkshire Hospital children’s ward, as well as in community, home, and other off-site settings. The role will involve providing tailored educational support to pupils who are unable to attend school due to medical needs, helping them to maintain continuity in their learning and progress. You will deliver targeted interventions and provide flexible tutoring to support engagement, confidence, and positive next steps in education during periods of ill health. You may also work with medical students and a range of learners with differing needs, ensuring learning is adapted appropriately to individual circumstances.

The role requires supporting students with both their learning and overall wellbeing, helping to create a calm, positive, and supportive learning experience in a variety of environments. Adaptability, initiative, and the ability to build strong, compassionate relationships with children, families, and professionals are essential for success in this role. We are happy to consider a range of working patterns, including part-time depending on suitability and service needs.

Additionally, we support those that unintentionally exclude themselves from education and children who cannot access school for medical reasons. We are a multi-site organisation which includes our Primary provision, based at College Road and Secondary provision, based at Cranbury Road. We have Outreach teams that provide specialist support within schools and a Hospital Teaching Service based at Royal Berkshire Hospital who provide education to children on short and long term stays. Cranbury College is a fast paced, energetic setting where we pride ourselves on a strong team ethic, always working together to create a nurturing and supportive setting for our student's alternative pathway to success.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
