Customer Climate Engagement and Strategic Programs Lead Description - Job Summary HP is seeking a highly strategic, customer-focused sustainability leader to help shape how HP creates value through climate leadership, carbon transparency, and decarbonization solutions. The Customer Climate Engagement and Strategic Programs Lead will report into the HP Global Climate Organization and serve as a key connection point between customers, commercial organizations, HP Solutions, Sustainability, Product teams, Climate Data & Footprinting teams, and external partners. The role is responsible for understanding evolving customer climate and sustainability needs, anticipating future market requirements, and translating those needs into customer solutions, strategic initiatives, partnerships, capabilities, and business opportunities. This position combines customer engagement, sustainability expertise, strategic program leadership, partnership development, business planning, thought leadership, communications, and solution development. The successful candidate will help advance HP's climate strategy while creating meaningful value for customers and strengthening HP's position as a trusted leader in decarbonization and climate solutions. The role requires a customer-first leader who can translate complex climate and decarbonization topics into meaningful customer outcomes, build strong cross-functional partnerships, and drive impactful strategic initiatives across HP and the broader ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Customer Climate & Decarbonization Engagement Lead strategic customer engagements focused on climate reporting, greenhouse gas accounting, decarbonization strategies, carbon transparency, product carbon footprints, and climate outcomes. Manage customer pilots, innovation initiatives, and strategic engagements related to climate-data solutions and decarbonization outcomes. Serve as a trusted advisor on carbon accounting, climate reporting, and sustainability data management to sales teams, helping translate customer needs into actionable solutions and outcomes. Support tenders where customers require detailed or specific Climate information, reporting or capabilities ensuring requirements can be met. Partner with Commercial Organizations, HP Solutions, Sustainability teams, Product organizations, and Supply Chain teams to identify opportunities where climate leadership and sustainability capabilities can enhance customer value. Serve as the primary Climate and Carbon SME supporting customer-facing organizations, helping respond to complex customer sustainability inquiries and requirements. Strategic Climate Programs & Partnerships Lead strategic initiatives that advance HP's climate, decarbonization, and customer sustainability objectives. Develop and manage partnerships with customers, industry organizations, NGOs, technology providers, and strategic stakeholders to accelerate climate outcomes. Identify opportunities for collaborative programs that create customer value while supporting broader sustainability ambitions. Drive cross-functional initiatives involving Sustainability, Supply Chain, Commercial Organizations, Product teams, and external partners. Support strategic planning activities, prioritization, and development of future climate programs. Help identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to HP's climate and decarbonization strategy. Contribute to climate-related business planning, strategic assessments, and leadership discussions. Climate Reporting, Capability Development and Commercial Integration Gather customer, market, and technology insights to shape the roadmap for climate reporting solutions, climate-data products, customer engagement strategies, and future capability development. Partner with HP Solutions, Services, Commercial Organizations, and Business Units to Identify, define, and help build future climate-data, reporting, and decarbonization capabilities that address emerging customer needs and strengthen HP's customer-facing sustainability portfolio. Partner with customer-facing platform owners and digital customer experiences to integrate Climate data and reporting solutions. Climate Communications & Thought Leadership Support development of customer-facing narratives related to sustainable computing, energy-efficient technology, artificial intelligence, and the role of climate data in enabling more sustainable digital transformation. Maintain and continually improve customer-facing sustainability content and digital experiences Create customer-facing content for speaking engagements, industry events, conferences, customer meetings, and external stakeholder engagements, presentations, case studies, executive briefing materials, and thought leadership. Translate complex topics such as greenhouse gas accounting, climate reporting, carbon footprints, decarbonization strategies, and sustainability data into compelling business narratives. Partnerships & Ecosystem Development Identify and develop partnerships that strengthen customer sustainability solutions, industry decarbonization outcomes and reporting capabilities. Collaborate with industry organizations, technology providers, channel partners, data providers, NGOs, and sustainability solution partners. Evaluate opportunities to expand customer value through external collaborations and ecosystem partnerships. Support initiatives that advance sustainability innovation and customer outcomes. Education & Experience Required Required Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, or a related discipline. Typically 8+ years of experience in sustainability, climate strategy, ESG, decarbonization, carbon accounting, consulting, customer engagement, sustainability solutions, product sustainability, or related fields. Experience managing strategic customer relationships and executive stakeholder engagements. Experience developing customer-facing sustainability solutions, programs, or service offerings. Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple organizations. Preferred Advanced degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Public Policy, or related discipline. Experience working within the technology industry, sustainability consulting, enterprise sustainability, product sustainability, or climate strategy functions. Experience developing executive-level communications, conference presentations, thought leadership content, or customer-facing sustainability materials. Experience leading large-scale programs, strategic initiatives, or partnership-driven projects. Knowledge & Skills Required Deep expertise in greenhouse gas accounting, carbon management, corporate decarbonization strategies, and sustainability reporting. Strong understanding of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions accounting methodologies and leading climate and sustainability standards, frameworks, and methodologies, including: GHG Protocol, SBTI, Net Zero Standard, ESRS, CSRD, ISO 14040/44/67. Strong literacy in product carbon footprints, lifecycle assessment methodologies, environmental-impact measurement, and climate-data management. Strong understanding of customer sustainability challenges and emerging climate-reporting requirements. Exceptional customer engagement, stakeholder management, and influencing capabilities. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, communication and storytelling skills. Strong strategic thinking, business planning and commercial acumen. Ability to translate highly technical sustainability concepts into compelling customer value propositions and business narratives. Strong project leadership and program management skills. They are passionate about helping companies navigate increasingly complex sustainability challenges and can translate technical sustainability topics into practical solutions and compelling business stories. They are equally comfortable: Engaging with sustainability leaders, procurement teams, and executive stakeholders. Partnering with sales, services, marketing, and commercial organizations. Working closely with climate-data specialists, LCA practitioners, product teams, and developers. Building external partnerships and industry relationships. Creating compelling communications, presentations, and thought leadership content. Speaking at customer events, conferences, and executive forums. The successful candidate combines strong technical credibility with exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills. They are highly organized, execution-oriented, intellectually curious, and able to operate effectively across technical, commercial, and executive environments. Pay & Benefits The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
