Director, Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy

Description -

The opportunity

We are looking for a senior strategy leader to define and advance HP's global go-to-market direction across regions, customer segments, portfolios, and routes to market. The GTM Strategy Lead will shape multi-year commercial choices, connect strategy to execution, and help accelerate revenue growth, market share, margin performance, and coverage efficiency.

This role is designed for a leader who combines first-principles thinking, deep commercial expertise, strong financial and analytical judgment, and executive influence. You will work across Sales, Marketing, Product, Category, Finance, Operations, and Transformation to turn complex market signals into clear strategic choices and executable roadmaps.

What you will do

· Lead the creation, evolution, and execution of global and segment-level GTM strategies aligned with corporate priorities and long-term growth ambitions.

· Develop multi-year roadmaps that integrate customer insights, market dynamics, competitive intelligence, portfolio choices, financial modeling, risk assessment, and execution dependencies.

· Design and optimize segmentation, routes-to-market, coverage models, partner and channel approaches, portfolio focus, and GTM mixes using relevant strategic frameworks, including 4P and 3C.

· Frame enterprise-level choices that balance growth, margin, customer experience, coverage efficiency, investment requirements, and operational feasibility.

· Lead high-impact, cross-functional strategy and transformation workstreams across Sales, Marketing, Product, Category, Finance, Operations, and Transformation.

· Define OKRs, KPIs, and measurement frameworks that connect strategic intent to commercial performance and enable course correction.

· Create executive-ready narratives, recommendations, and decision materials for VP and C-suite stakeholders.

· Use AI-enabled analytics, automation, scenario modeling, Power BI, Excel, and M365/OpenAI agents to generate insight, improve decision quality, and scale strategy work.

· Mentor and guide a team of experienced GTM strategy individual contributors, while orchestrating broader cross-functional teams through influence rather than formal authority.

Leadership scope and impact

· Influence strategic and operational decisions with enterprise-wide commercial impact, without direct P&L ownership.

· Lead and mentor approximately 4-6 GTM strategy individual contributors at Expert to Principal level.

· Operate as a strategic thought partner to senior functional, regional, and global leaders.

· Resolve ambiguous, cross-functional, and global problems using incomplete data and evolving market conditions.

· Plan across a two- to five-year horizon while ensuring near-term priorities translate into measurable action.

What you bring

· A four-year degree or graduate degree in strategy, business, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

· Typically 12+ years of relevant experience in strategy, management consulting, commercial planning, product, sales, marketing, business transformation, or related leadership roles.

· Deep GTM expertise across segmentation, routes-to-market, coverage, channel and partner ecosystems, portfolio strategy, competitive intelligence, and multi-year commercial planning.

· Demonstrated ability to shape complex strategies and convert them into prioritized roadmaps, governance, performance measures, and executable workstreams.

· Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including scenario modeling, business cases, investment trade-offs, and data-driven storytelling.

· Proven success influencing executives and aligning senior stakeholders across functions, regions, and business units.

· Experience leading senior individual contributors and multidisciplinary teams in a matrixed global organization.

· Knowledge of complex B2B and B2C technology environments, including enterprise, hardware, and channel or partner business models.

· High ownership, intellectual curiosity, structured problem-solving, sound judgment, and the ability to move from ambiguity to action.

Preferred capabilities

· Experience applying AI, advanced analytics, and automation to strategic analysis and business decision-making.

· Fluency with Power BI, advanced Excel, and modern M365 or OpenAI-enabled productivity tools.

· Experience with major commercial transformation, coverage redesign, portfolio optimization, or operating-model change.

· Ability to communicate complex issues simply and credibly to both executive and operational audiences.

What success looks like

· Clear, differentiated GTM choices that are grounded in customer, market, competitive, and financial insight.

· Enterprise alignment around priorities, trade-offs, ownership, and measures of success.

· Roadmaps that connect long-term strategy to practical execution across markets and functions.

· Measurable improvement in commercial performance, decision quality, and the speed at which insights translate into action.

· A strong, high-performing strategy capability with clear standards, effective coaching, and scalable ways of working.

Why join

This is an opportunity to shape HP's GTM vision and influence its global commercial trajectory. You will work with senior leaders on high-visibility priorities, operate with meaningful autonomy, and help turn bold strategy into practical transformation across the business.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
