Services Supply Chain Portfolio Manager

Description -

Organization Introduction:

In this position, you will be part of the SSC Delivery & Business Operations – Pursuit & Portfolio Management organization, whose mission is to enable profitable Services growth by connecting business strategy, customer requirements and portfolio priorities with scalable Supply Chain capabilities and operational execution.

The team partners across HP Solutions, Portfolio/Product Management, Services Delivery, Finance, IT, Solution Design and Supply Chain functions to influence new services early, prioritize investments, orchestrate capability development and ensure successful operationalization.

This positioning is consistent with the organization's objective to lead Managed and Lifecycle Services portfolio orchestration, capture Voice of the Customer, influence portfolio offerings through Shift Left engagement, and support sustainable transitions into operations

Job Overview

As Services Supply Chain Portfolio Manager, you will act as the strategic interface between HP Services businesses and Supply Chain, ensuring that portfolio priorities and new service requirements translate into scalable, financially sound and operationally executable Supply Chain capabilities.

You will own the consolidated portfolio view across Managed Services, Lifecycle Services and other applicable service businesses, orchestrating new service introductions (NXIs), strategic initiatives and capability improvements from early business requirements through prioritization, feasibility assessment, roadmap alignment and operational readiness.

You will connect business strategy with Supply Chain capabilities, challenge requirements and assumptions, evaluate investment and operational implications, and provide management with clear recommendations and trade-offs. For selected strategic initiatives, you may also assume direct program leadership to accelerate design, decision-making and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and orchestrate the Services Supply Chain portfolio, maintaining an integrated view of active initiatives, new-service introductions, capability requirements, roadmap dependencies, risks and expected business value.
  • Act as the strategic Supply Chain partner to HP Services portfolio and business organizations, translating business priorities and customer needs into clear SSC requirements, capability needs and execution implications.
  • Drive portfolio strategy and prioritization, assessing initiatives against business value, strategic alignment, feasibility, investment requirements, operational complexity, dependencies and available resources.
  • Lead early feasibility assessments across relevant Supply Chain domains, identifying existing capabilities that can be leveraged, gaps requiring new development, and requirements that should be challenged, redirected or deprioritized.
  • Shape business cases and investment decisions by coordinating cost assessments, financial assumptions, benefits, ROI, resource needs and operational implications with Finance and Supply Chain stakeholders.
  • Own portfolio roadmap visibility and governance, ensuring leadership has a transparent view of portfolio health, priorities, dependencies, resource constraints, systemic risks and decisions required.
  • Represent Services Supply Chain throughout the NXI/new-service introduction lifecycle, orchestrating the appropriate SMEs and ensuring Supply Chain requirements, risks and readiness criteria are addressed before key phase-gate decisions.
  • Influence service and operating-model design early, ensuring proposed solutions are scalable, standardized where possible, financially sustainable and aligned with existing or planned Supply Chain capabilities.
  • Challenge assumptions and drive decisions, developing a clear SSC point of view rather than acting solely as a coordination layer.
  • Lead strategic programs or NXIs when required, establishing governance, milestones, Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies (RAID)
  • Connect portfolio and pursuit insights, using recurring customer/deal requirements and operational learnings to identify portfolio gaps and scalable capability opportunities.
  • Provide executive-level portfolio communication, translating complex operational and financial topics into concise recommendations, investment cases, risks and decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of portfolio governance, including intake, prioritization, roadmap management, business-case discipline, benefits realization and cross-functional ways of working.
  • Build strong working relationships across Services businesses, Product/Portfolio Management, Delivery, Finance, IT, Operations and Supply Chain functions, operating effectively in a complex global matrix.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, Finance or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in portfolio management, program management, services supply chain, service delivery, new-service introduction, product/service enablement, operations or a related function.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a global organization.
  • Experience evaluating business requirements and translating them into operational capabilities, roadmaps or investment decisions.
  • Strong understanding of financial and business-case fundamentals, including cost, benefits, ROI and investment trade-offs.
  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and influence decisions without direct authority.

Strongly preferred

  • Direct experience in Services Supply Chain, Managed Services, Lifecycle Services or contractual service delivery.
  • Experience with NXI/NSI, product or service introduction, portfolio governance or phase-gate methodologies.
  • Experience with service operating-model design, solution feasibility, inventory/logistics strategy or service costing.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of concurrent initiatives with competing priorities and dependencies.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL or similar business/operations qualifications are a plus.

Skills

  • Strategic thinking and portfolio judgment: connects individual initiatives to broader business and portfolio strategy and makes clear prioritization recommendations.
  • Business and financial acumen: comfortable challenging business cases, costs, benefits, investment assumptions and ROI.
  • Services Supply Chain knowledge: understands the operational implications of new services across processes, systems, logistics, inventory, partners and service delivery.
  • Critical thinking: investigates root causes, questions assumptions and develops an independent point of view.
  • Influence and stakeholder leadership: drives alignment and decisions across complex organizations without relying on hierarchical authority.
  • Structured program management: strong governance, roadmap, RAID, milestone, dependency and execution discipline.
  • Executive communication: simplifies complexity into clear narratives, recommendations, decisions and asks.
  • Analytical capability: comfortable working with portfolio data, financial information, operational KPIs and scenarios.
  • Customer and business mindset: balances business growth and customer outcomes against scalability, operational feasibility and financial sustainability.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: capable of creating structure where responsibilities, processes and requirements are still evolving.
  • Ownership and accountability: follows risks and issues through resolution rather than stopping at coordination.
  • Collaboration and coaching: builds strong partnerships, shares knowledge and develops capability across teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
