Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Specialty Food Sourcing & Quality Assurance Manager to oversee global vendor sourcing, import compliance, and rigorous quality control standards across our multi-brand food and beverage operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating international specialty ingredient markets, establishing strict supply chain safety protocols, and ensuring seamless coordination with our overseas logistics and local kitchen teams. Given the operational demands of the hospitality industry, this position requires frequent international travel for supplier audits and a 6-day work week (including weekend and evening operational coverage as required).
Key Responsibilities
- Global Sourcing & Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with international suppliers and farms to source high-grade specialty food ingredients, ensuring optimal balance between cost, quality, and supply continuity.
- Quality Assurance & Food Safety Compliance: Implement and monitor strict HACCP and international food safety standards from farm-to-table. Conduct routine quality inspections on incoming shipments and manage discrepancy resolution.
- Supply Chain & Inventory Risk Control: Oversee cross-border logistics, cold chain integrity, import permits, and customs clearance procedures. Mitigate supply chain disruptions through proactive inventory forecasting and secondary vendor vetting.
- Operational Quality Audits: Collaborate closely with kitchen operations and regional management to conduct regular on-site quality audits, minimizing food waste and ensuring consistency across all brand outlets.
- Fiscal & Administrative Oversight: Ensure all purchasing contracts and vendor invoices comply with corporate financial governance, internal budget limits, and local regulatory frameworks.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with at least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in food sourcing, quality control, or supply chain management within the F&B / hospitality sector.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of international food safety standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP, AVA/SFA import regulations), cold chain logistics, and inventory management systems.
- Operational Flexibility (Crucial): Must be willing and able to undertake frequent international business travel to visit overseas suppliers and production facilities. Must be able to adapt to a 6-day work week, with regular requirements to work on weekends, public holidays, or irregular hours to support operational and weekend inspection needs.
- Competencies: Strong negotiation skills, meticulous attention to detail, high resilience under pressure, and the ability to work independently across multi-cultural environments.
