Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

With decades of experience in the industry, the company has built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, reliable systems and customer-focused service.

The business provides end-to-end air conditioning solutions, including system design, installation, upgrades, maintenance and ongoing customer support. Its services cover a range of ducted and split-system solutions, with a strong focus on helping customers achieve comfortable, efficient and reliable indoor environments.

This franchise is the most awarded of the 11 franchises to date.

Role Overview: We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Virtual Assistant with Solar Design Experience to support the growth of an Australian company's solar business. This role will primarily focus on assisting with solar system designs and proposals using OpenSolar, while also providing administrative and operational support throughout the solar installation process.

The successful candidate will help prepare solar designs and customer proposals, coordinate installation schedules, manage relevant documentation, assist with equipment ordering, and support the day-to-day administration of solar projects. As the business continues to expand its solar operations, there may also be opportunities to assist with sales support and other related activities.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in solar design and proposal preparation, is comfortable working with solar design software, and can manage administrative tasks independently in a remote environment. Experience with the Australian solar market would be an advantage but is not essential, as training will be provided on internal processes and specific business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solar System Design: Prepare solar system designs and layouts using OpenSolar or similar solar design software.
  • Proposal Preparation: Develop accurate solar proposals, system configurations, and supporting documentation for customer presentations.
  • Solar Project Administration: Manage project records, documentation, and administrative requirements throughout the solar installation process.
  • Equipment Ordering: Assist with preparing equipment lists, checking product requirements, and coordinating orders with suppliers.
  • Installation Scheduling: Coordinate installation schedules with customers, installers, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare, organise, and maintain solar project paperwork to ensure information is accurate aznd up to date.
  • Customer and Team Coordination: Communicate with internal team members, customers, suppliers, and installation teams to support smooth project delivery.
  • Sales Support: Assist with preparing quotations, following up on proposals, maintaining customer records, and supporting other sales-related administrative activities as required.
  • Process Improvement: Learn and follow internal workflows while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency as the solar business grows.
  • General Administrative Support: Provide additional administrative assistance related to solar operations and other business activities when required.

Requirements

  • Previous hands-on experience in solar design, solar drafting, solar system configuration, or a similar role.
  • Experience preparing solar system layouts, designs, and customer proposals.
  • Familiarity with OpenSolar is highly desirable. Candidates with experience using similar solar design software are also encouraged to apply.
  • Understanding of solar system components, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and related equipment.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage documentation, schedules, and multiple tasks.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prepare accurate designs, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote working environment.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, tools, and internal processes.
  • Experience coordinating with customers, suppliers, installers, or other stakeholders is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Australian solar standards, installation practices, equipment requirements, or industry processes is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience in solar administration, equipment ordering, installation coordination, or sales support is an advantage.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
