Job Description

Position Summary:

The Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for the design, delivery, and day-to-day operation of the core technology infrastructure the business runs on. This includes physical and virtual server platforms, enterprise storage, all network and carrier connectivity, telephony/VoIP, data center operations, along with the power, cooling, and rack infrastructure that supports IT equipment within the corporate office. This role has ultimate accountability for the availability, performance, capacity, and resiliency of these platforms.

This role leads a team of infrastructure engineers and system administrators, setting technical standards, prioritizing work, and developing the team's capabilities. Additional responsibilities include ownership of the infrastructure lifecycle and refresh roadmap, capacity and budget planning, and management of hardware vendors, carriers, and service providers, holding each accountable for their service delivery obligations.

This role partners closely with Information Security, Service Management, Global Security, Facilities and End User Services to ensure infrastructure is secure, well documented, and delivered as a reliable service to the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership & Operations

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for infrastructure incidents; lead root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions through established incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, SOPs, reference architectures, network and system diagrams, runbooks, and configuration baselines.
  • Maintain 24x7 operational coverage and an on-call rotation for business-critical infrastructure.

Infrastructure & Resiliency

  • Own the architecture, deployment, and lifecycle of physical and virtual server platforms, ensuring capacity, performance, patch compliance, and configuration standards are maintained.
  • Own enterprise storage platforms, including capacity forecasting, tiering, performance tuning, replication, and growth planning.
  • Own network infrastructure across the enterprise, including routing, switching, wireless, load balancing, DNS/DHCP, and network segmentation, partnering with Information Security on firewall and perimeter design.
  • Manage all corporate connectivity, including carrier circuits, internet transport, SD-WAN/MPLS, satellite and global remote site links; own carrier relationships, contract renewals, and escalations.
  • Own data center operations, including environmental & systems monitoring, structured cabling standards, rack elevations and layout, hardware asset and inventory management, and physical access procedures.
  • Manage the facilities elements that support IT equipment within the corporate office, including rack power distribution, UPS and PDU capacity, circuit planning, cooling, and generator coordination, in partnership with Corporate Facilities on building systems.
  • Own enterprise backup operations end to end, including backup architecture, job success, retention policy, restore testing, and offsite archiving/replication including immutable copy protection.
  • Execute and validate the technical recovery processes that underpin disaster recovery and business continuity, in coordination with the team accountable for maintaining DR documentation and plans.
  • Manage voice and telephony infrastructure and associated carrier services and support the evaluation and migration to cloud-based calling platforms as the strategy evolves.
  • Partner with Information Security to harden platforms, remediate vulnerabilities, and ensure infrastructure meets security, audit, and compliance requirements.

Strategy & Delivery

  • Own capacity planning and the technology lifecycle and refresh roadmap; develop annual capital and operating budget forecasts and manage spend against the approved budget.
  • Manage infrastructure vendors, resellers, managed service providers, and hardware maintenance contracts, holding providers accountable to their service delivery obligations.
  • Define, measure, and report on infrastructure performance metrics, including availability, capacity utilization, backup success rate, patch compliance, and change success rate.
  • Lead infrastructure projects, including data center refresh, platform migrations, office builds and moves, and network upgrades, delivering on scope, schedule, and budget.

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure engineering and operations, including 3+ years leading teams, technical leads, or service providers.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
