This is a learning-focused opportunity for a student interested in electrical construction, BIM/Revit modeling, and improving how project teams work.

The intern will receive training on department standards, quality-review processes, and internal tools. Prior experience with every VDC term, workflow, or software platform is not required. Working with the VDC Process Manager and project teams, the intern will help identify items that need attention, organize findings clearly, and support updates to standards and process documents.

Job Description:

  • Help review electrical Revit models using established quality-control checklists and guidance from the VDC Process Manager.
  • Record review findings clearly and help communicate items that need correction or follow-up to project leads and the VDC Process Manager.
  • Assist with organizing project files, Revit family content, templates, and department reference materials to support consistent modeling practices.
  • Help review, format, and update Department Standards, VDC standard operating procedures (SOPs), and project GO-BY materials.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and assigned improvement projects as needed.

What You Will Learn

  • How Revit models are used to support electrical construction projects.
  • How VDC teams use standards, checklists, and documentation to improve model quality and consistency.
  • How to review model and document information consistently and communicate findings professionally.
  • How construction technology teams organize workflows, reference materials, and project information.
  • Exposure to tools and processes that may include Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology, Engineering Technology, Architectural/BIM Technology, Electrical Design, or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Interest in electrical construction, BIM/VDC, Revit modeling, construction technology, or process improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and an interest in organized, consistent work.
  • Ability to learn new tools and follow established checklists and instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members while managing assigned tasks independently.
  • Ability to commute to the Eagan, Minnesota office for in-person work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework, personal projects, or previous exposure to Autodesk Revit.
  • Prior exposure to Navisworks, Revizto, or Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Interest in electrical systems, construction drawings, or construction coordination.
  • Experience organizing information, following documented processes, or creating clear visual or written instructions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
