Love working with children but need a role that fits perfectly around your week?

Are you a natural when it comes to sparking children’s imaginations? Hurst Park Primary Academy is looking for an enthusiastic Playworker to join our vibrant wraparound care team. If you’re looking for a role that’s hands-on, rewarding, and fits around your other commitments, this could be the perfect match. We’re after someone who can help our pupils stay happy, safe, and engaged whilst they play.

The Role

Working under the guidance of our Wraparound Care Team Leader, you’ll be a key part of our pupils' afternoon. You won’t just be supervising; you’ll be right in the thick of it, helping children develop socially and emotionally through play.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Planning and organising exciting play activities for primary-aged children.
  • Setting up play areas and equipment to ensure they are safe and inviting.
  • Preparing and serving snacks and refreshments.
  • Chatting with children about their worries or concerns, providing a supportive ear.
  • Managing fair behaviour and dealing with any minor injuries or emergencies.
  • Building great relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues.

What You Will Bring

We need someone who is patient, flexible, and genuinely enjoys working with children. To join the team, you will need:

  • Proven experience of working within a childcare or play provision.
  • Sensitivity and understanding, with the ability to stay calm whilst things get busy.
  • Top-notch communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused approach.
  • Basic IT skills for simple tasks on computers or hand-held devices.
  • An NVQ Level 3 full and relevant childcare qualification suitable for working with Nursery-aged children is desirable but not essential.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
