The posting

Social Media & Marketing Manager

As the Social Media & Marketing Manager with HVMG, you'll lead the digital presence, content strategy and local marketing for four downtown Winston-Salem venues: Butcher & Bull, Marriott Winston-Salem, The Rooftop Lounge at Courtyard and Benton Convention Center. You'll give each venue its own voice and content plan, and you'll create cross-promotions that link dining, lodging, entertainment and events for guests. You'll work within Marriott brand standards for the hotels and within established brand guidelines for the restaurant, rooftop lounge and convention center.

If you're a creative, outgoing storyteller who loves hospitality, enjoys being on-site where the action is and can juggle multiple brands at once, this role offers the chance to shape how downtown Winston-Salem experiences four of its standout venues. You'll report to the HVMG Director / Area Leader and work closely with each venue's General Manager.

Your Four Venues

• Butcher & Bull: Grow reservations, covers and private events. You'll promote seasonal and holiday menus, tell food and chef stories, optimize the restaurant's online profiles, and lead local press, influencer, email and event marketing.

• Marriott Winston-Salem: Grow direct bookings, group and wedding leads, and reviews. You'll promote packages, tie in local events and run M Club programming, all within Marriott Bonvoy brand standards.

• The Rooftop Lounge at Courtyard: Bring in after-work and weekend crowds for happy hour, live music, themed nights and private buyouts. Your main tools will be short-form video and event promotion, all within Courtyard brand guidelines.

• Benton Convention Center: Generate qualified booking leads, event attendance and community visibility. You'll manage the venue's LinkedIn presence and content, cover events on-site and co-market with Visit Winston-Salem.

• Cross-Property: Create bundled offers, a shared downtown event calendar, convention attendee welcome campaigns and coordinated content shoots that expand reach and keep production efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and Google Business Profiles for all four venues.

• Build and run a monthly content calendar and custom content plan for each venue, aligned with property goals and approved by the General Manager.

• Capture, edit, schedule and publish high-quality photos, stories, reels and short-form video, and coordinate approved outside photographers or creators when needed.

• Monitor and respond to comments, messages, inquiries and reviews within service standards, and pass service concerns to the right manager.

• Engage with followers, local accounts and community partners, and use guest reviews and approved guest-created content (with proper permissions) to build social stories.

• Plan and launch campaigns for holidays, seasonal menus, packages, live events, conventions, meetings and weddings.

• Manage approved paid social and search budgets for each venue, and report monthly on spend, results and return.

• Write and send email newsletters and promotions, and grow each venue's opt-in email list.

• Keep websites, menus, event listings and third-party platforms such as OpenTable/Resy, TripAdvisor and Visit Winston-Salem accurate and current.

• Design digital graphics, hotel and event signage, flyers and sales materials, and coordinate printing with approved vendors.

• Build relationships with local media, influencers, the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership, Visit Winston-Salem, businesses, universities and arts organizations.

• Evaluate and coordinate influencer and creator visits, and track their deliverables, deadlines and results.

• Support group sales teams with collateral for weddings, meetings and conventions, including site-tour signage and group welcome materials.

• Plan and promote Butcher & Bull events, M Club events, rooftop programming and other on-property activations, and attend networking and community events.

• Review sponsorship, donation and community partnership opportunities, and make sure approved commitments are fulfilled.

• Follow Marriott brand standards and social media policies, and maintain brand guidelines for Butcher & Bull, The Rooftop Lounge and Benton Convention Center.

• Track image releases, usage rights, music licensing and alcohol-marketing requirements, and keep content libraries organized.

• Measure how promotions, events and paid media perform against what they cost, and partner with venue leaders on offers that are practical to run and profitable.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
