🚀 We’re Hiring: Test Fleet Engineer – Expert | Vehicle Fleet Management & Test Operations Company: Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB Role: Test Engineer – Expert (Test Fleet Engineer) Location: Gothenburg, Sweden Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience Language: English Engagement: IT Consulting Assignment About the Role Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is looking for an experienced Test Fleet Engineer at Expert level to support advanced vehicle testing and engineering operations. In this role, you will take responsibility for ensuring maximum availability and utilization of test vehicles throughout their lifecycle. You will work closely with project management, engineering teams, testing departments, workshops and external suppliers to ensure that vehicles are maintained, prepared and available for their planned test activities. The position combines vehicle fleet management, technical coordination, project planning, logistics, problem-solving and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities 1. Test Fleet Management & Vehicle Uptime Ensure maximum uptime and availability of the complete test vehicle fleet. Act as the first point of support for vehicle uptime and coordinate support for field-test vehicles. Proactively identify and resolve issues affecting vehicle availability. Coordinate activities during unplanned vehicle stops, including workshop resources and necessary repairs. Monitor vehicle utilization and identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency. Plan and coordinate vehicle maintenance between testing and loan periods.

2. Workshop & Technical Coordination Coordinate internal and external workshop resources to ensure timely vehicle repairs and maintenance. Identify, order and manage spare parts, materials and required services. Arrange towing and special transportation between different testing locations. Coordinate vehicle readiness and ensure appropriate documentation before transportation. Manage external supplier activities and follow up on related invoices. Ensure that vehicle modifications, updates and damages are properly documented.

3. Fleet Optimization & Project Coordination Analyse individual vehicle and overall fleet utilization. Optimize the number of vehicles required to support ongoing testing activities. Coordinate timely divestment of vehicles to optimize fleet size and reduce unnecessary capital tied up in vehicles. Participate in project meetings and lead actions related to vehicle uptime and fleet optimization. Communicate requirements, provide recommendations and share knowledge with relevant stakeholders. Ensure that project activities meet established test fleet requirements.

4. Logistics & International Transportation Plan and coordinate vehicle transportation between testing facilities. Organize special transport and towing requirements. Coordinate resources and transportation documentation for vehicle export and import outside the EU. Ensure vehicles are properly prepared and documented before transportation.

5. Continuous Improvement Identify and implement improvements to fleet management processes and operating procedures. Develop efficient methods to improve vehicle availability and utilization. Document processes, share knowledge and contribute to long-term operational improvements. Support engineering teams in achieving testing objectives through effective fleet planning and coordination.

Required Skills & Experience Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in test engineering, vehicle operations, fleet management or related automotive engineering activities. Strong understanding of vehicle systems and automotive product development. Experience in vehicle fleet coordination, testing operations or technical project management. Proven ability to manage multiple activities and coordinate different stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Experience coordinating workshops, repairs, maintenance and external suppliers. Ability to analyse vehicle utilization and identify opportunities for operational optimization. Good understanding of vehicle transportation and logistics processes. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Additional experience in international vehicle transportation, customs-related documentation, test fleet lifecycle management and automotive project coordination is highly beneficial. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving capabilities, together with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage complex operational challenges and drive continuous improvements. At expert level, you should also be comfortable mentoring colleagues, sharing technical knowledge and acting as a trusted point of contact for complex operational and technical matters.
