Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

Pay: $18/hr, Hourly

Hyundai of Greenville is a trusted, customer-focused dealership serving Greenville, SC. We take pride in keeping our customers moving, and our rental department plays a key role in that. We're looking for a friendly, organized Rental Clerk to join our team and help deliver a smooth, professional experience to every customer.

Position Summary

The Rental Clerk manages the day-to-day operation of the dealership's rental and loaner vehicle program. This person greets customers, processes rental agreements, tracks vehicle availability, and works closely with service advisors and manager to make sure customers have transportation while their vehicles are being serviced.

Job Duties

  • Greet customers in person and by phone, and answer questions about rental and loaner vehicles
  • Prepare, review, and process rental and loaner agreements accurately
  • Verify driver's licenses, proof of insurance, and payment information
  • Check vehicles in and out, including recording mileage, fuel levels, and condition
  • Inspect returned vehicles for damage and document findings with notes and photos
  • Maintain an accurate rental fleet log and track vehicle availability and reservations
  • Coordinate with service advisors to schedule rentals for service customers
  • Arrange vehicle cleaning, fueling, and routine maintenance for the rental fleet
  • Process payments, deposits, and refunds, and reconcile daily transactions
  • Process billing to warranty providers and insurance companies when applicable
  • Follow up on overdue rentals, tolls, traffic citations, and damage claims
  • Keep the rental counter and work area clean and organized
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous customer service, rental counter, or dealership experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and basic computer skills; experience with dealership management software and TSD a plus
  • Friendly, professional communication style and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
