About the Role

Hyve Solutions is seeking a Senior Finance Operations Analyst to support financial operations with a specialized focus on freight costs and transportation spend. This role will serve as a key stakeholder in the end-to-end freight financial process, partnering across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Freight Audit, and other teams to improve cost visibility, financial accuracy, and cost control.

The role will combine financial analysis, operational execution, process ownership, and cross-functional collaboration. A significant focus will be on managing freight accruals, evaluating freight costs and commercial terms, identifying opportunities to minimize freight liability, supporting carrier recovery efforts, and improving the freight audit and recovery process.

Key Responsibilities

Freight Cost Management & Financial Analysis

  • Manage and monitor freight accruals, ensuring costs are accurately estimated, recorded, reconciled, and adjusted as appropriate.
  • Analyze freight spend, variances, and cost drivers to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Perform Incoterms analysis and evaluate the financial implications of freight responsibilities and commercial arrangements.
  • Evaluate freight cost corrections and adjustments to ensure financial accuracy and appropriate controls.
  • Develop and maintain reporting that provides stakeholders with visibility into freight costs and financial performance.

Freight Liability, Audit & Recovery

  • Partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities to minimize freight liability and prevent unnecessary costs.
  • Collaborate with the Freight Audit team on carrier recovery and claims opportunities, including validation, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Partner with Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, and carriers to investigate and resolve freight-related discrepancies.
  • Identify recurring freight discrepancies and root causes, and work with stakeholders to implement corrective actions and improve the freight audit review process.

Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the end-to-end freight financial process, connecting Finance requirements with operational processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve controls, workflows, reporting, and process efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain processes, controls, and documentation supporting freight financial activities.
  • Lead or contribute to projects that improve freight cost accuracy, reduce financial leakage, and support the evolution of freight financial processes as business needs expand.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, finance operations, supply chain finance, logistics, accounting, or a related field; Senior Analyst experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to balance transactional accuracy with broader business objectives.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with freight, transportation, logistics, supply chain finance, or freight audit processes.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, carrier billing, transportation costs, or freight recovery processes.
  • Experience with accruals, financial analysis, or cost-control processes.
  • Experience identifying cost leakage, recovery opportunities, or process improvements.
  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data analysis and visualization tools.

Success in this role will include:

  • Accurate and timely freight accruals, reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Improved visibility into freight costs and opportunities to minimize freight liability.
  • Increased identification and recovery of eligible carrier-related costs.
  • Improved accuracy and efficiency of freight audit and cost-correction processes.
  • Stronger controls, process ownership, and measurable improvements across the end-to-end freight financial process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
