Job Description

As a Collection Executive, you will play a crucial role in our organization's financial operations. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the collection process, ensuring that payments are received promptly and accurately. You will act as a liaison between the company and its customers, providing excellent customer service and resolving any payment-related issues. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely and accurate payment collection.
  • Contact customers via phone, email, or in-person to discuss payment arrangements and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Negotiate and agree on payment plans with customers, considering their financial situation and the company's policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, including call logs, emails, and payment arrangements.
  • Identify and escalate potential bad debts or high-risk accounts to the appropriate team members for further action.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of payments.
  • Provide regular updates to the management team on collection progress and any potential issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in debt collection to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding debt collection.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a collections or customer service role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with debt collection laws and regulations is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new collection strategies and technologies.
  • A positive and professional attitude, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
