At IBM Infrastructure & Technology, we design and operate the systems that keep the world running. From high-resiliency mainframes and hybrid cloud platforms to networking, automation, and site reliability. Our teams ensure the performance, security, and scalability that clients and industries depend on every day. Working in Infrastructure & Technology means tackling complex challenges with curiosity and collaboration. You’ll work with diverse technologies and colleagues worldwide to deliver resilient, future-ready solutions that power innovation. With continuous learning, career growth, and a supportive culture, IBM provides the opportunities to build expertise and shape the infrastructure that drives progress.
Team Leadership & Growth
Manage a team of 30+ engineers across multiple squads, guide career development, run hiring cycles including campus drives, and build a high-trust, high-output organisation.
IBM Power AI Delivery
Own the technical execution of AI software readiness, open-source enablement, and ISV ecosystem expansion on IBM Power — from roadmap to release.
OpenStack & IaaS Engineering
Drive development and maintenance of cloud-infrastructure services (compute, networking, storage) on Power, collaborating closely with upstream OpenStack communities.
Client & Stakeholder Interface
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external partners, ISVs, and IBM leadership — owning programme updates, escalations, and joint planning.
Multi-Team Agile Delivery
Lead Scrum of Scrums across squads, maintain a predictable, high-quality delivery cadence, and continuously improve engineering processes and tooling.
Open Source & Community
Champion IBM's open-source posture — unblocking upstream contributions, managing repository health, and engaging with the broader developer community on IBM Power.
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering, with a strong track record delivering complex, scalable infrastructure and AI/cloud software for enterprise environments — including IBM Power-based platforms.
- 3+ years managing and leading full-stack engineering teams end-to-end: technical execution, sprint delivery, performance management, and talent development across a diverse, distributed group.
- Deep technical proficiency in Python and OpenStack — particularly within compute, networking, storage, or controller-level components — and cloud-based IaaS application development workflows.
- Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent Scrum teams, including cross-team coordination via Scrum of Scrums, consistently delivering to quality and schedule in a fast-paced programme.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI workloads, open-source tooling, and the CI/CD and packaging pipelines that support them at scale on Power infrastructure.
- Strong communication and presentation skills — able to translate deep technical context for executive, client, and cross-functional audiences without losing precision.
- Demonstrated stakeholder and client management experience, including external-facing ownership of technical roadmaps, delivery commitments, and escalation handling.
- Experience building and sustaining a healthy engineering culture: mentoring senior engineers, managing hiring (including university pipelines), and maintaining psychological safety alongside delivery rigour.
- 5+ years of engineering leadership with a focus on mentoring senior individual contributors and building technical career ladders within an IBM or IBM-adjacent engineering organisation.
- Direct experience with IBM Power hardware, ppc64le toolchains, and the nuances of porting, packaging, and validating AI/ML frameworks on non-x86 architectures.
- Familiarity with ISV and ecosystem enablement programmes — managing partner relationships, tracking software availability, and driving co-sell or joint-go-to-market outcomes.
- In-depth OpenStack contribution or operations experience across multiple releases, with knowledge of deployment at IBM-scale or cloud-service-provider scale.
- Experience presenting technical investment cases, release catalogs, or architecture decisions to VP-level and above, including IBM executive audience.
