You will be joining the Product & Experience Practice which sits within the Strategy & Transformation Service Line in IBM’s Consulting organisation in Australia. The team’s core purpose and capabilities are Business Strategy and Experience Design enabled by AI. We take on the biggest challenges facing businesses today and design the operating models, workflows, new products and services, technical architecture and AI assets to power employee and customer experiences of tomorrow.
As an entry level Experience Consultant, you will use human-centered design to solve business challenges through a human lens. We build empathy with the people we are designing new technology for and ensure we are meeting their needs, while delivering measurable business value. You will work alongside a diverse team of strategists and technologists to deliver real solutions for our clients, not just strategies.

In your role you will be responsible for:
Design for AI
- Leveraging methods such as IBM Enterprise Design Thinking and IBM Design for AI
- Familiarising yourself with service design principles to re-imagine human / agentic workflows
- Develop insights from qualitive user research through observation and interview
- You will be adept at drawing and communicating insights from quantitative research
- Support Change Management and Experience Led Adoption of new technology
- Developing design artefacts such as Persona, Service Blueprints, User Journeys
- Facilitating and Supporting workshops to align stakeholders around new ways of working
- Designing front-end user experience interactions
- Rooting your methods and values in Ethical AI
- Support senior strategists in designing new operating models for transformation which enable organisations to deliver human-agent workflows
AI for Design
- Leverage AI tools and models to augment/automate research tasks (e.g. using AI to synthesis findings, create report structures)
- Develop your own AI assistants to accelerate your work
- Build high-fidelity and functional prototypes of front-end experiences or agents leveraging IBM’s tools such as Enterprise Advantage, IBM Bob and watsonx orchestrate
- AI-assisted artefact creation, leveraging partner tools such as Figma and Figma Make (e.g. user journey and persona development)
- Rapidly test and iterate designs with prototyping and user testing
The ideal candidate will have work experience or qualifications in the fields of business management, engineering and/or design. You will be deeply curious about artificial intelligence and its evolving impact on the world. You will be a core team member, keen to collaborate with a diverse, cross-functional team from business, technology and design who are aligned around a common goal.

- Exceptional quantitative analysis skills and ability to derive recommendations informed by data and insights
- Powerful communication and storytelling skills, with an ability to communicate complex situations clearly and simply

- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and work effectively in an intense team environment, able to build direct working relationships across all levels of the IBM and client teams
- Degrees in computer science, engineering, arts / design, psychology
