As a self-driven Procurement Sourcing Buyer, you will support an external client environment within a BPO framework. You will be responsible for managing sourcing activities, supporting the client’s category management team, and ensuring contractual commitments are met across assigned categories and countries. This role involves conducting tendering activities, market analysis, supplier negotiations, and maintaining accurate documentation. You will be part of both the IBM Budapest Procurement Service organization and the extended client team, receiving business guidance from both sides.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide sourcing support as directed by the client’s Procurement Sourcing Lead and Category Strategy Leader.
· Own category-level performance and ensure delivery against contractual commitments.
· Understand and support category deliverables, savings targets, and reporting requirements.
· Execute sourcing events aligned with client strategies and transformation goals.
· Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and stakeholders across all organizational levels.
· Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence within the sourcing function.

Scope of Work
· Execute sourcing activities across assigned indirect procurement categories.
· Support client category strategies through tendering, supplier consolidation, and tail spend management.
· Conduct market analysis, supplier profiling, and negotiation planning.
· Maintain sourcing documentation and ensure compliance with client policies.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet savings targets and contractual obligations.
· Participate in quarterly business travel, subject to client needs and account scope.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Proven experience in supplier relationship management and client-facing roles.
· Able to speak Mandarin in business context
· Strong negotiation, decision-making, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
· Proactive mindset and collaborative team player.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education preferred.
· 1-5 years of sourcing experience in indirect procurement categories is an advantage.
• Deep Industry Knowledge: Experience working with industry-specific data and benchmarking insights to inform sourcing decisions and drive cost savings. Understanding of the commodities being sourced, including market trends and supplier dynamics.
• Advanced Sourcing Techniques: Exposure to complex sourcing methods and tools to analyze data and negotiate with suppliers effectively. Familiarity with applying data and benchmarking insights to inform sourcing decisions.
• Strategic Supplier Relationships: Experience working with suppliers to meet business objectives, including influencing them to meet strategic sourcing objectives and negotiating contracts.
