The posting

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure Solutions Architecture team. This role is responsible for building and validating test environments across our enterprise operating systems, server platforms, and containerized workloads, ensuring the integrity, performance, and efficiency of the infrastructure that supports end-to-end production deployments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder with a proven ability to design and implement automation while provisioning and managing test environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and maintain test environments across Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8/9/10), Windows Server (2019/2022/2025), and virtualized and containerized platforms.
  • Author and maintain test automation and infrastructure provisioning using Python, Ansible, and Terraform, including reusable roles, modules, and CI-style test workflows.
  • Stand up and operate containerized and orchestrated test workloads using Docker or Podman and Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Perform firmware, BIOS/BMC, and OS patching and lifecycle activities on enterprise server hardware, including out-of-band management via iDRAC and iLO.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and documented methodologies; track and report results meticulously.
  • Execute functional, integration, performance, and stress testing for backend infrastructure, analyzing results to identify variances and improvement areas.
  • Troubleshoot issues encountered during testing using logs, telemetry, and systematic root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to refine testing processes and support development and proof-of-concept cycles.
  • Manage work through ServiceNow (incident and change) and Jira; stay current with platform roadmaps and testing practices.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (RHCSA/RHCE, Microsoft, or equivalent) are advantageous.
  • 5+ years administering Linux (RHEL preferred) and Windows Server, including patching and upgrades at scale.
  • 5+ years supporting standard enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE, etc.), including firmware and hardware lifecycle, with iDRAC/iLO out-of-band management experience.
  • 2+ years of scripting and automation using Python and Ansible, with infrastructure-as-code experience in Terraform (Bash and PowerShell also valued).
  • Hands-on experience with container runtimes (Docker or Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes or OpenShift).
  • Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualization.
  • Proven experience authoring test automation, integration testing, and performance/stress testing for backend infrastructure.
  • Experience with benchmarking and performance tools such as Phoronix Test Suite, SysBench, SPECint, and fio (storage I/O).
  • Ability to manage multiple small-scale projects and test cycles simultaneously.
  • Experience with Jira and ServiceNow for work and change tracking.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy; excellent written and verbal communication.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working within a compliance-gated, hardened fleet (patch baselines, controlled change).
  • Observability and telemetry exposure (for example Splunk).
  • Experience building CI/CD-style workflows for infrastructure or test automation.
  • Familiarity with GPU-optimized or AI/ML infrastructure testing (and associated benchmarking) where applicable.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new tools quickly; good organizational and prioritization skills.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
