Job Description

IMG, an Ichor Company, is hiring a QC Inspector for its Larkin manufacturing facility in Scotts Valley, CA. This role supports the manufacturing of high-precision aerospace and defense components and assemblies. The QC Inspector performs dimensional, visual, and process inspections of precision-machined components of varying complexity, and incoming materials to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards such as AS9100 and other customer requirements, and company standards.

Responsibilities

Use a variety of inspection tools, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, height gages, CMMs, optical comparator, microscopes, vision systems, and drop gages, to perform spindle first article inspections on new batches of parts.

  •  Perform receiving, set-up, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with control plans and work instructions.
  •  Record measurements and populate inspection reports or related documents as specified by product control plans and work instructions.
  •  Complete inspection reports and other documents in adherence to regulatory and quality standards such as AS9100 and other customer specific requirements.
  •  Mechanically and visually inspect parts at various stages of the production process.
  •  Monitor complex components to tight tolerances.
  •  Interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  •  Perform open-layout inspections as required to support product control plans and First Article requirements.
  •  Provide CMM programming support, including running first-time programs, tuning existing programs, and assisting with troubleshooting; light programming may be required.
  •  Provide information and clarification to machinists regarding inspection requirements and results.
  •  Develop inspection reports and measurement tracking as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and internal quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in print reading and GD&T
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments
  • Attention to detail with requirements and documentation
  • Ability to communicate and operate in a smaller, team-based environment
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office software packages such as MS word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Knowledge of an ERP systems, GSS is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Customer oriented and service-minded
  • 1+ years of manufacturing or related experience

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and reach, push, pull, carry, or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, coolant, dust, mist, temperature variations, and moving machinery. Occasional high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, exposure to oils and cutting fluid.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading written instructions, lists, documents, blueprints, and computer screen.

ITAR The business site where this position is located is an ITAR-compliant operation. Due to ITAR regulations, Ichor Systems is only able to employ US Persons. A US person is a lawful permanent resident (immigrant with “green card” permanent authorization to work document) or who is a protected person (a citizen, a national, a refugee, or a person granted asylum). Non-citizens with other visas are not eligible for hire at this location.

For candidates based in CA: The base salary range for this full-time position is $19.33-$32.84 hourly, non-exempt.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
