The posting
As a Senior Software Testing Analyst, you will develop and execute formal test plans to ensure the quality of software applications. Using AI-assisted tools, you’ll analyze requirements, identify risk areas and assess coverage; build and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines; and use generative AI and coding assistants to speed up test design and script development, validating all AI output for accuracy. You’ll also track quality metrics, use automation and AI to triage defects and surface trends, and help resolve issues.
You’ll work in a development team as part of the Diagnostic Software Engineering testing team, supported by a Test Engineering Manager and our Test Enablement group. Beyond your team, you’ll coach technical staff on effective and responsible AI and automation practices, and act as an internal quality consultant to business and technical partners.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days per week and 8 days per month in our Westbrook, ME office.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute formal plans, procedures and scenarios for manual and automated testing to ensure the quality of software applications. Use AI-assisted tools to analyze requirements, identify risk areas and assess test coverage, applying a risk-based approach and contributing to acceptance criteria early in development.
- Plan tests, write test cases and scripts, automate test cases and execute tests. Use AI tools (e.g., generative AI, AI coding assistants and agents) to speed up test case design, script development and test data generation, while validating all AI output for accuracy and relevance.
- Perform smoke, application, functional, API and regression testing with a bias toward automation, and exploratory testing where human insight adds value. Build, maintain and optimize automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines, and apply AI-driven techniques (e.g., agent-assisted test maintenance, intelligent test selection, flaky-test analysis) to reduce maintenance and speed up feedback.
- Document and track test results, defects and quality metrics such as escaped defects, flaky-test rate and test feedback time. Use automation and AI to triage defects, summarize results, detect patterns and trends, and surface quality insights to stakeholders. Participate in resolution.
- Develop and implement quality standards and best practices, including guidelines for responsible AI use in testing (e.g., human review, data privacy, validation of AI-generated artifacts). Contribute to continuous improvement and identify new opportunities to automate repetitive work.
- Deliver quality process training to technical staff.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Typically 3+ years’ related experience required. Excellent problem solving abilities, including the judgment to know when to apply AI and automation and when human insight is needed. Hands-on experience building and maintaining Unit, UI, and API test automation using frameworks such as Playwright, with strong skills in at least one programming language such as Python, Java or C#. Working knowledge of AI tools for testing and development (e.g., prompt engineering, AI coding assistants, AI-enabled test platforms), with the ability to critically evaluate their output. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into build and release processes. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines. Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills. Drive and initiative, with curiosity and a willingness to continuously learn and adopt emerging tools and techniques. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members. Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates systems development and testing experience.
What you can expect from us:
- Base salary range starting at $130,000 – $140,000 based on experience
- Opportunity for annual cash bonus
- Health / Dental / Vision Benefits Day-One
- 5% matching 401k
