The posting

Industrial Economics, Incorporated (IEc) provides consulting services for natural resource managers, regulators, attorneys, and other clients involved in public policy development and implementation. Our staff applies expertise in economics, science, engineering, business, computer modeling, and data management to cutting-edge environmental and natural resource policy and management issues. We are known for developing smart, objective analyses to address high-profile environmental and public policy problems, leveraging a unique combination of analytic rigor and creativity.

Position

Analyst to support one or more of IEc’s key practice areas, including public policy analysis, applied economics, environmental management and policy, natural resource damage assessment, program evaluation, finance, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

IEc Research Analysts (RAs) perform research and data gathering and organizing tasks; conduct quantitative analyses using a variety of economic, financial, or scientific methods; and communicate results in written reports and presentations. Candidates must demonstrate academic experience in at least one of a wide range of disciplines relevant to IEc’s work including, but not limited to, economics, applied mathematics, statistics and data science, public policy, engineering, finance, chemistry, biology, ecology, and other environmental sciences. RAs frequently work on multiple projects simultaneously and may work as part of large, multidisciplinary teams or more independently, depending on the project. Successful RAs are collaborative, exhibit intellectual curiosity, possess strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, pay careful attention to detail, and communicate effectively.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or equivalent international degree in a relevant field (see above). Candidates with graduate degrees will not be considered for this position.

Compensation and Advancement

• IEc offers competitive salaries ranging from $50,000 to $60,000 commensurate with experience, as well as an annual performance bonus averaging 10% of annual salary.

• We are committed to the health and well-being of our staff and provide excellent benefits, including quality medical and dental insurance with contribution to a Health Savings Account; generous contribution to retirement savings (based on tenure); an Employee Assistance Program; flexible vacation/holiday time; financial support for relevant professional development opportunities; sick time and short- and long-term disability; paid family and medical leave; commuter benefits; recreational and social opportunities; and more.

• RAs are eligible for promotion to Senior Research Analyst (Senior RAs). As most advanced positions at IEc require a graduate degree, RAs and Senior RAs often depart for graduate school or other career opportunities after working at IEc for approximately two to four years.

Position Location

IEc office is located in Cambridge, MA; this position requires presence in the office at least three days a week, with remaining days as optional hybrid working arrangements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
