The posting
Do you enjoy solving complex problems and working with Nordic initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups? We are looking for an experienced Business Developer to help shaping the future of our Nordic Investigation Unit in If.
Claims is a crucial part of If P&Cs value creation from a financial, people, and customer perspective. Within Claims, we have approximately 2,500 dedicated professionals, providing support when it matters most, combining excellent customer service with responsible and efficient claims handling and partner procurement activities.
Investigation Unit is part of If’s Claims department, but supports the whole organization in preventing, detecting and responding to insurance fraud and financial crime. In Investigation Unit our work helps protect customers and the company by ensuring that claims are handled fairly and that suspected fraud is identified and investigated appropriately.
About the role
Fraud and financial crime are increasing at a rapid pace in society, while claims journeys are becoming more automated and digital. Our work is to enable smooth customer journeys without allowing suspicious cases to pass unnoticed.
As Business Developer, you will turn complex needs into practical improvements that strengthen our ability to prevent and address insurance fraud.
The role has a Nordic scope. You will lead development from problem definition and analysis to recommendation, implementation and adoption. The work combines strategic perspective with hands-on delivery at the intersection of business, data, processes and technology.
Your key tasks
You will create structure, alignment and momentum in initiatives that improve how Investigation Unit works and delivers value across the Nordic organization
- Identify and lead complex Nordic business development initiatives, and selected local initiatives when relevant.
- Gather qualitative and quantitative insights, map the current state and identify root causes, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Translate business needs into clear requirements, development-ready material, business cases and recommendations for decision-makers.
- Assess how processes, information, systems and operating practices should evolve, including opportunities enabled by AI and automation.
- Develop and scale processes, concepts, frameworks, handbooks and tools across countries.
- Support implementation, business readiness and adoption so that changes deliver the intended results.
- Drive Nordic collaboration and alignment while balancing local needs and dependencies.
- Build trusted relationships across Investigation, Claims, and other business areas.
Who are you
You are a proactive and analytical business developer who enjoys solving complex problems and turning insight into action. You move confidently between the big picture and the details, and you combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic, delivery-oriented approach.
- You take ownership, work independently and keep several initiatives moving in a structured way.
- You communicate complex topics clearly and create alignment among multiple stakeholders with different perspectives.
- You are curious, persistent and comfortable challenging established practices constructively.
- You build trust and engagement around change and adapt your role to what the initiative and team need.
- You demonstrate high integrity, sound judgement and strong ethical standards in all your actions and decisions
You also have
Your experience gives you the credibility and practical capability to lead high-complexity development initiatives in a Nordic environment.
- Several years of experience in strategy, process development and change management, preferably from consulting.
- A relevant academic degree, such as an M.Sc. in business administration, engineering or similar.
- Strong analytical and business-case skills, with experience leading complex cross-functional or Nordic initiatives.
- Experience in process improvement or Operational Excellence, and translating business needs into automation, systems or AI-enabled solutions.
- Strong skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Copilot and other relevant Microsoft 365 tools.
- Fluency in English and at least one Scandinavian language.
- Experience with Claims processes or areas such as fraud risk, financial crime and investigations is an advantage, but not a requirement.
About the team
You will join a warm and welcoming investigation community and take on a visible role in shaping how the unit develops. The position offers broad collaboration across business and technology, meaningful development assignments and the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to fair and responsible insurance.
