The posting
So, who are we?
IG Group is a FTSE 100 global fintech, operating across five continents, serving more than 1.4 million customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions. Our business has been built on scale, trust, deep market expertise and a willingness to keep evolving as the way people trade and invest changes.
For our people, that means solving genuinely complex problems, working with strong technology and resources, and having the opportunity to shape the future of a global financial platform.
The bar is high. Bring curiosity, commercial judgement and a bias for action, and we will give you the scope to work on some of the most important growth and transformation priorities across APAC.
Join us at IG — the future gets built here.
Your Team
You will report to the Head of Commercial & Projects, Asia and sit at the centre of IG’s regional commercial agenda.
The broader team is responsible for shaping how IG grows across existing markets, expands into new opportunities, improves the economics of the business and evolves its product proposition.
You will work closely with Product, Technology, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Operations and local market leadership across APAC.
This is not a traditional PMO role. You will be expected to help determine what we should do, as well as make sure it gets done.
Your role in the Team’s Success
You will own a portfolio of IG’s most important strategic initiatives across Asia and APAC.
Your role is to take complex, often loosely defined business problems and turn them into clear strategic choices, executable plans and measurable commercial outcomes.
Projects may involve improving the economics or operating model of an existing business, sharpening competitive positioning, developing new propositions, expanding into new markets, integrating new capabilities, or coordinating major cross-functional initiatives.
You will typically own initiatives from initial problem definition and analysis through business case development, stakeholder alignment, execution and benefits realisation.
Success therefore requires a combination of strategy, commercial judgement, analytical thinking and execution discipline.
What you’ll do
● Lead high-priority strategic projects end to end, from problem definition through implementation and measurable business impact.
● Structure ambiguous business questions into clear workstreams, hypotheses, decisions and action plans.
● Build business cases covering revenue potential, costs, contribution economics, investment requirements, operational implications and risks.
● Conduct market, customer and competitive analysis to identify where IG has a right to win and what changes are required to compete more effectively.
● Support market and product expansion by assessing attractiveness, regulatory feasibility, licensing requirements, operating needs and execution complexity.
● Develop launch and transformation roadmaps covering Product, Technology, Operations, Marketing, Risk, Legal and Compliance.
● Drive alignment across senior stakeholders and ensure major initiatives stay on track across multiple functions and markets.
● Identify risks, dependencies and execution gaps early and bring clear recommendations and options to leadership.
● Define the KPIs and commercial outcomes for each project and track performance against the original business case.
● Help regional leadership prioritise where to allocate capital, technology resources and management attention.
What you’ll need
● Significant experience in strategy, transformation, business operations, consulting, corporate development or complex project leadership, ideally within financial services, fintech, brokerage, investing, wealth or another regulated industry.
● Proven ability to take major strategic initiatives from concept through execution and deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
● Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn unstructured issues into clear frameworks and decisions.
● Strong commercial judgement, including comfort with business cases, unit economics, contribution margin, cost structures and return on investment.
● Strong analytical skills and confidence working with quantitative and qualitative data.
● Experience working across multiple functions, geographies and senior stakeholder groups.
● Strong understanding of APAC markets and the commercial, regulatory and competitive differences across the region.
● Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and constructively challenge assumptions.
● Strong execution discipline and the ability to create momentum where ownership is distributed across several teams.
● Experience in trading, brokerage, investing, digital assets or capital markets would be highly valuable but is not essential.
