Assistant Venue Manager

You’ll be working with a friendly, motivated team who you will recruit and lead with your distinctive style and work with them to develop their full potential and ensure everyone provides genuine heartfelt care to our guests. You will also work alongside our Chefs and F&B team, and we know that between you all we will really make a name for ourselves.

  • Maintains proper records of Sales, guest complaints, solutions and all concerns pertaining to personnel or equipment in appropriate logbooks, discusses the same with Outlet Manager.
  • Controls requisitions of all supplies to maintain par stock for smooth operation.
  • Establishes side duties schedule and follow up with each employee to ensure duties are carried out.
  • Assist the Outlet Manager in scheduling of staff and ensure adequate coverage according to established practices and maximize on labour potential. Adjust schedules to meet emergencies, coordinates with other managers regarding emergency staffing.
  • Assist the Outlet Manager in minimizing costs in operating the restaurant and achieving sales goals.

Regarding the role, it’s as the job title says really, you are responsible for providing a vibrant environment for our guests to ‘kick back’ in and chill out with their favourite beer or cocktail, leading your team to success.

  • Ensures all necessary arrangement and preparation are made for normal and special events, coordinates activities with Housekeeping, Engineering and other departments.
  • Monitors and directs service flow in the restaurant.
  • Welcomes and seats guests and presents menu with suggestions to specials.
  • Checks regularly all operating equipment to ensure sufficiency and reports inventory, breakages or missing items.
  • Checks rooms for need of repair of furniture and fixtures; coordinates with Engineering.
  • Attends all F&B meetings scheduled in the absence of the Outlet Manager.
  • Conducts/Participates in daily briefings and monthly communication meetings to discuss various aspects of food service and preparation
  • Assist in controlling the daily operations of the restaurant area (review set-up and food and beverage preparation and service) to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety regulations and procedures and to ensure an optimal level of service, quality and hospitality.
  • Assist in supervise and direct the restaurant team including supervisors and server.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling the maintenance/sanitation of the restaurant areas and equipment to protect the assets and ensure quality service.
  • Meet with the guests to ensure the quality/service of the food and to review any changes, issues and/or problems to ensure delivery of a quality product.
  • Attends to guest complaints, requests or inquiries regarding food and services
  • Assist the Outlet Manager in the daily operation
  • Represent the Outlet Manager in his / her absence
  • Manage the staff to provide service as per standard
  • Train the staff as per standard
  • Assist the Outlet Manager in planning for projects and special Events
  • Ensures 100% guest satisfaction by providing best service to the guest
  • Ensure a minimum of breakage and spoilage by training the staff
  • Always have “Can do” attitude
  • Always smile in front of the guest

It’s a physical role and although there are the usual meetings, briefings and of course emails to check, you will be on your feet most of the day out and about chatting with your guests and your team, so fitness will be key for you, although reasonable adjustments will be made where we can. We would love it if you were multi-lingual, but it’s not essential.
